Metro refused to honor manufacturers warranty on a failed capacitor 7 months after the unit was first installed by Metro. Was told beforehand by Goodman (manufacturer) that all parts were still under warranty. Metro confirmed this when scheduling the appointment and then after the work had been done still charged me for the part. I have no issue paying for labor on warranty repairs but Goodman offers a 5 year parts warranty. Called Goodman afterwards to confirm again that the capacitor was a warranty part and was told that it should have been.
Almost wonder if the tech left my house and drove to the local supplier to get his free replacement part since he miraculously already had one for my unit in his van.
*Updated from 1 star because we were able to get it worked out after multiple calls. Still not impressed with the service of the office. The repairmen have always been punctual and knowledgeable.
This company replaced my upstairs unit, within the warranty period, the outdoor unit needed to be replaced. I was told not to worry that it was under warranty. This repair took 6+ hours. Within a few weeks, had to be called out again for the indoor unit and removed an improperly installed heat element ( I was informed by the serviceman that it was not installed properly). Again, was told not to worry it was under warranty. This repair took 6+ hours as well. During the install, they were not aware that they were replacing electric heat with a heat pump which required me to purchase a new thermostat so they would not have to run a wire on the outside of my home. A $600.00 thermostat. A month after both repairs I receive an invoice for 1,900.00. I called the company, who looked it over and would settle for the 900.00. This was still unacceptable. The house was placed on the market and due to the improper install of the upstairs unit repairs were 9,000.00 just so that the home could be sold. Now, in the middle of a pandemic, I am being sued for the 900.00. So, to sum it up, I have given this company 4600.00 for the indoor and outdoor unit, 600.00 for the thermostat, 9,000.00 in repairs to the home due to damage from the improper install (did not go to them, but was caused by them) and they are suing me for labor costs due to faulty and improperly installed equipment. If anyone out there does not know, these repairs should have NEVER taken this long and I should not be in this situation due to a lack of morals and ethics within this company. I am disturbed that I am required to give them one star in order to write a review. Btw, the warranty covers two hours worth of labor. Would go without heat and air before I would recommend or use this company.
I purchased a service package as a charitable donation to my childs school. $150 value. They came to perform the service and found a faulty reversing valve, i declined the repair as my hvac had been working flawlessly for the 3 years since we bought the house new. The technician told me it was a “no cost” warranty repair because the system was only 3 years old. After no less than 3 technicians spent multiple hours at my home, or in their truck near my home, i received a bill for over $1800! With no breakdown of anything, parts/labor. I explained that i was told it was a no cost repair, so they cut the bill exactly in half and sent a new one for $937.66. I guess by coincidence that was the cost of the warranty part? Who knows!? Be wary of this company, they will make work out of your system! And they will steal your money!
