Steve's Comfort Systems

I am so happy to have found Steve's Comfort Systems. My son and daughter-in-law (from FL) purchased a 150 year old home, sight unseen (in SD) and found many issues upon arriving which were not disclosed. First being plumbing which was not in working order. Joshua came out right away and was extremely helpful, and guided them on their way to make a clear decision as to what steps to take now, and how to proceed going forward. When he learned they were first time homeowners from FL, he kindly took my son on a tour of what to expect with the furnace, winter in general, and different workings of the crawlspace, etc. He even had quite a bit of information regarding the history of the home they purchased. Thank you Joshua for the prompt service and for making them feel at home in their new house.

The first time Steve came to look at our furnace, he invited me to watch him work and then explained everything he was doing, how the furnace worked, and offered to answer any other questions I had about our plumbing, heating, or cooling systems. Every time we have worked with him, he has gone above and beyond to be helpful, informative, and courteous. He has explained over the phone how to solve a problem, to save us the cost of a visit. We highly recommend Steve!

When our hot water heater went out, Steve's Comfort Systems was available to replace and install the new system that day. We were lucky they were free. Steven and Joshua were kind, professional, and did not bat an eye at our difficult-to-access old cellar. We appreciated how respectful, tidy, and careful they were. Their fee seemed reasonable especially with the challenges of our peculiar, older house.

Yesterday after a long weekend with a plugged sewer main, I called the numbers of seven local plumbing companies. Of the seven, only two had an answering service (Steve's and another) and I left messages at the other five. Steve's was the only one of the seven who actually returned my call the same day. In my impatience, I decided to rent a drain snake and try it myself. Just as I was getting started, Steve returned my call and I explained that I was going DIY. Rather than the typical "OK good luck" he gave me a good fifteen minutes of advice that proved to be indispensable in solving my issue. Disaster averted, problem solved. Steve is a real class act and a credit to his profession and his will be our go-to company for our plumbing and HVAC needs in the future.

Steve came late in the afternoon and worked until about midnight getting my new hot water heater installed. Told me he couldn't let me go without hot water! I truly appreciated his sacrifice to help me out. He knows his stuff! I highly recommend him and his company.

These wonderful fellows did our plumbing for us- is there nothing these men can't do? We've been using Steve's services for a long time and will continue to do so! You can't go wrong with Steve's Comfort Systems.

Steve is awesome! He popped by, figured out our plumbing issue really quickly, and did a great job getting us up and running. I appreciated how he was able to explain what was going on, and steps we could take to prevent the issue from recurring. 10/10!

I am writing this to recommend Steve to anyone who wants an honest professional who knows his job and will not only solve the problem, but also educates the customer so that they can take care of it themselves! We had a problem with our water heater and he gave us the opportunity to try fix it ourselves by instructing us on the phone and even sent us instructions on how to do it before he came. They inform you upfront about the cost and help you to try fix/solve the problem before you ask them to take a look at the problem. In my experience, this is an unusual aspect for a business and I appreciate the way they conduct their business. Overall very professional, friendly and did a clean job!

I never give reviews... but there are exceptions to every rule. Thankfully, I found Steve’s Comfort Systems online. Steve Bell stepped up and got my hydronic heating system working well and properly balanced after a Yankton heating contractor failed and then wouldn’t even return my calls. After a short conversation on the phone, Steve diagnosed the system problems, he refused to drive out to Springfield, said it would be too costly. Then he talked me through the process and he save me a bundle of money. When a guy can do that over the phone you know he is an expert in his field. You just don’t get that kind of support these days. Thank you very much, Steve.

I needed some emergency plumbing done, and Steve came over promptly to assess the problem. He made time in his day so he could fix the issue the same day. I appreciated his thoroughness, his explanations along the way, and his professionalism.
