Called A1 to come fix our AC in the beginning of June. It was a very hot Friday. Guy came out and said it needed to be cleaned and need to bring over equipment. The guy indicated he would be over on Saturday with the equipment. Guy never showed or communicated. I called him multiple time with no answer. they finally showed up Monday after dealing with the one of the hottest weekends. He dropped off the equipment and said it needed to be charged and told us to clean the AC ourselves. We got a $162 bill for service that I had to conduct myself without proper instruction. Days later they finally called back and asked if the AC was working. We indicated that it was and he said he would come pick up his equipment. The guy never showed up to get the equipment. A month and half later, the guy showed up unannounced and starting wondering all around my property without permission. They were very unprofessional, calling constantly to get the equipment while I was working and un able to answer. I would never use them again. Strongly recommend to not use them unless you want to do the work yourself, still get charged and have them trespassing.
Had them install new furnace based on their recommendations. That turned into a joke with it taking three days and many trips to install. Then we had issues the first day after installation (seems odd that new furnace did exact same thing the old one did, wonder if I really needed the new one..) they wouldn't take any responsibility for the problems or their brand new unit! Two years have passed and have had a couple issues with unit. If you call them after hours no one answers and no one will return your call. Don't waste your time with them they are after a quick sale and customer service is the last thing they care about. Should be zero stars.

The second time they came out they said my air wasn’t working because the return air vents were too small so I replaced those with bigger ones but that didn’t fix the issue. I will not use them again. Furthermore I have told them each time that the unit is not only blowing warm air but the air isn’t pushing through at all and they never address that problem. They come in and jump to conclusions without looking into what the actual problem is. Call someone in Sioux Falls. I heard bad things about A1 but thought I’d give it a try. Never again.
I'm not sure why all of the negative reviews. A1 was very helpful, especially William the technician. His knowledge of HVAC was very helpful. The new unit was fairly priced and installed quickly (which was nice as it was July). I plan to use them for future projects, as needed.
Call someone else. Had them fix our furnace, and not even 24 hours later our house is filled with gas, luckily got off work early and got it aired out so our house didn’t blow up.
They also came in above first cost quote, and then charged me extra labor time and parts after I asked the technician what I would be billed for when he completed work the first time.
So two price increases, almost losing everything, and being told it wasn’t for sure their technicians fault that a thick metal pipe fractured after they worked on it, (and being asked if it’s a fair bill- never once offered a discount) I give them 1 star, because zero isn’t an option.
Many bad encounters. Like to keep things local but wont use these guys anymore. They came to fix a faucet, told us that parts were not available. put it back together, and when i got home i had a bunch of water. Then i went to the same store where that faucet was sold to me and behold there were many of the EXACT same model on the shelf. Still is to this day. Also had an emergency with hot water heater. Called their emergency line, and never got a call back. Also had one last time of using them, they siad they would be there on a certain day at a certain time, no call no show. Really really poor way to run a business. Will never use them again.

(they sent two men to do a one-man job) They ended up returning the next day to finish. When the bill came, the hours they had billed for was totally shocking. I contacted two other contractors to give me an estimate of what hours it should take to do that same work. Both estimates were for much less than half of the hours A1 had billed. I called A-1 to see if they would compromise on the hours billed. They were totally uncooperative, ignored my return calls and became threatening. I WAS BURNED BIG TIME!!! Wish I would have read the reviews in advance. Wanted to keep the work local. Don’t hire these guys unless you are willing to pay three times the normal labor cost for a job. Warn others about this company.
My warranty company gave me their number and they set up an appointment. This was in the dead of winter. The guy that sets up the appointment then told me it sounds like an condensing problem and he doesn't deal with that. He called again the next day to say he was coming over, then realized he had the wrong number and said, "no sorry!". This is in the winter haha. Since I had to go through warranty I had to wait til Monday and it was after hours now because I had been dealing with A1. I froze my butt off. Warranty got a new company over to my place and it wasn't a condensing problem at all. It was the ignitor with I'm pretty sure all HVAC companies should know how to fix. I am a hard person to frustrate and I never feel like I need to go on the internet and voice what happened, but I was completely in shock about this and thought how does this place even stay in business. At least they could of done is even come look at it, and realized it was a common problem and not push it off has something they don't deal with. It turns out it was something that they actually could of fixed. I just don't think they wanted to deal with the warranty company, not really sure but really unprofessional! Seriously what a fricken joke, lol I can't even believe it happened the way it did. I can't even make this stuff up..
A1 came and wired up my new office building. Very prompt service right from the get go. They were extremely flexible with my changing demands and their work is perfect. I highly recommend these guys for both professional and private work. Will be using them for all my future needs.
