Before I get into the problem with using this company let me first state that Technician Mark M who provided services to my home was very professional with his work, this one star does not reflect him. On Sunday, May 8 (Mother's Day) we came home to a hot house to discover that our AC unit was not properly working. Given that I have a 19 month old daughter we immediately called a company to come find out the problem. Air Waves came out. We knew that rates would probably be higher given the time and day of the call. We know that products have a cost mark up. Mark suggested what temporary solutions we could make to get the AC unit up and running and quoted us a price for a new unit in the future. Exactly 2 weeks later, the unit failed again leaving us no choice but to replace it entirely. We received a couple different quotes to weigh our options.When explaining to someone how I hated the fact that I put almost $800 dollars in a unit that is now being replaced, I was asked what all was done. After answering this question this person was dumbfounded and shocked over what I paid. So here's EXACTLY what I paid for on my itemized invoice, one 40 MFD 230-440V CAPACITOR 6-J was $352.50, three REFRIGERANT-22 for $294.00 and of course LABOR which totaled $110.00. Total of $756.50. Here's the big problem, a CAPACITOR can be found for $10.00 and if you also Google this part, you can find in the price range of 10-20 dollars. Note, we understand there are price mark ups, we understand this happened on a Sunday later in the evening but how is that figure calculated? We would have never known this unless it was brought to our attention. After seeking a few opinions, my fiance called and spoke with Manager Mark about this and requested fair pricing on the parts sold. Well that was an immediate no. Mark was notified that we will place reviews and turn to social media because I refuse to let another consumer go through this. Mark also called me today, May 26 and the only thing I got out of that conversation was that my fiances one star rating reflected the technician. No sir, your company is doing that. Your one star rating comes from you PRICE GOUGING (when a seller spikes the prices of goods, services or commodities to a level much higher than is considered reasonable or fair, and is considered exploitative, potentially to an unethical extent) the public who lack the knowledge about this line of work. Also I got to hear about overhead, employee insurance, materials, van depreciation but I was never given a satisfied answer. This story can go much longer, many words were exchanged but here is my point...if you are okay with dumping your wallet out for this company then by all means choose them. But first go online and price check one of these capacitors. Then add on a fair mark up and some labor cost in there (b/c maybe that's what happened to that price), then ask yourself where did $352.50 come from? That's the "fair" pricing you will get from them.
