Petro has served us well. We switched to Petro one weekend that we ran out of oil. They were the only company to deliver oil without charging an exorbitant price. We have been with them ever since and have had excellent service.

Moved to Petro (via tankfarm.io) and have been very happy ever since. My old propane provider was over $1/gal more expensive than Petro. So Petro is cheaper and has better customer service....win win!

What I love about you guys is that you're 100% flexible with payments. When you come to do our yearly tune-up it's quick and easy and the service techs are upfront and honest. The service tech who just did mine told we what's going wrong and how to fix it i.e. the chimney lining is old and is about cave in and block the heaters exhaust and I have to replace my oil tanks. A Tech came back to look at the oil tanks. He mentioned he's seen 90% of tanks like mine seep but it's still functional. He suggested in the near future to buy a new one but for now it'll last a few more years

We returned to Petro as our oil supplier after visiting their booth at a recent home show. The sign-up bonus and pricing for fuel and service contract were very attractive incentives. So far, we have been pleased with their service.
We were also promised a referral credit for each new customer who signed up based on our recommendation. So far, three households have done this, but I don’t know if we ever got all three bonuses. Everything is automatically charged to our credit card on file, so I will have to call in order to determine the status of the bonuses. It would be nice to just get an email notifying us and a thank u for the referral.

94 year old man on automatic delivery with no oil for 3 days. After waiting on hold for nearly an hour was told someone would come the next day. It’s 26 degrees out! After another 40 minutes waiting on hold and explaining the dire situation of this man cold for 3 days someone is supposedly coming this evening. The arrogance and flippant attitude is outrageous. Nothing like a local company. This would never happen.

I have had a Petro service plan for a few years and maintenance visits have been easy and positive. Yesterday my system had shut down and the Navien (unit brand) service department could not help me over the phone so I scheduled a service call. My system needed to be reset, which was something I probably should have known on my own, but the tech was very polite about it and didn’t judge me, and then started to talk to me a little more about my system so I had more knowledge.

Technicians who performed the furnace and AC annual service were very professional and thorough. They cared about the job they were doing. As an oil fuel and service customer of Petro for more than 40 years, the staff both on the other end of the telephone and those who perform services are great. Always responsive to any issue. With two houses that are currently serviced by Petro (as well as a former house), I am very happy and pleased over all these years. They have installed furnaces, and AC systems which have always performed well. I highly recommend Petro Home Services

We have a Premiere service plan, which entitles us to 24/7 emergency service. We had no heat (furnace wouldn't turn on) over a night when the out door temp was single digits. Yet, after our initial call for service, we had to wait 9 hours through the over night for service. The technician arrived 9 hours after our call, and then replaced a control unit that didn't need to be replaced. The furnace turned on, the technician left the house, and 5 minutes later the furnace failed again.

I called for service immediately, and the woman on the phone told me she would seek out the technician and ask him to return, and get back to me. She never did, even though I left repeated follow-up messages throughout the day. All the while, out door temps were in the teens, and we had no heat.

Finally, I called a manager (Charles), and he promptly arranged for a second technician, who was on another call, but arrived in 2 hours (12 hours after the first technician left).

The second technician (5 stars) correctly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. Turns out the first technician missed the real problem and unnecessarily replaced a control unit. I never heard back from the woman who I called to report the unsuccessful first technician. She never returned any of my phone calls, nor did she apologize.

I've had Petro for many years and until last year have been satisfied. However, I now find that when you schedule a cleaning, you have to wait 2 or 3 months for it! This happened this year. In November I called for a furnace cleaning and was told nothing was available until Jan 31. Let me guess...too many customers and not enough employees to service them? On Jan 30 I received a call saying I would have to reschedule. Why? Because it was going to be cold Jan 31 and they were expecting emergency calls. Again...too many customers, not enough employees? When I asked to reschedule, they said it would be late March or April!!! This is not acceptable! When I threatened to leave them and find another oil company, after much hedging, they agreed to come Feb 4 between 9 and 12. I stayed home all morning, no Petro. I called at 12 and they said probably at 1. No Petro at 1. I called again, they said 2 or 3. At this point I couldn't stay home any longer, I had things to do and had already stayed home all day waiting for them so I told them I'd leave the door open. When I got back at 3:30, still no Petro! I called again, they said they'd be there at 5, but I had made plans to meet a friend at 4:30 (after all, they should have had the job finished by 1, right?) So my neighbor agreed to be there for them. They finally came around 4:30. Not once did I ever receive a call from them telling me the technician had been delayed, I was the one who was forced to call them multiple times. I had a similar experience last year and almost ran out of oil because, although I had called to tell them I was almost on empty, they kept putting me off, one day at a time. Petro is the most expensive oil company around but prior to 2018, I considered the excellent service worth the price, but service is now substandard. I suspect that they are trying to maximize profits by minimizing the number of employees.

Horrible!!! If I could give 0 stars I would....No one ever showed up. They were supposed to come between 3 and 7pm. I have a water leak in my basement!!!, also, I was supposed to get a seperate propane delivery. I asked for someone to call 30-45 minutes before they arrived. I got a call at 2pm from a technician about the propane. I told him that my appointment was for 3. He said that my propane was empty and I would need a delivery. I told him that I knew that already, could they deliver it that day. He said absolutely, and told me that he would call for the delivery. No one EVER called about the leak. I was home sitting on my couch 6 feet from the front door from 3 o'clock onward. I called at 7 to ask if they were still coming. I sat on hold for about 40 minutes only to be told that a tech came to my house and no one was home!!!!! He asked if there was anything on my door. I said NO. He said that if they came out, something should have been on my door. I WAS SITTING ON MY COUCH FROM 3 TO 7 PM!!! I had to leave work early!! The kicker is that the EXACT same thing happened the last time I called for a service technician. I AM NOT HAPPY!!!!
