We first contacted Signature as former Worcester customers because we had an annual HVAC tuneup due. The technician informed us our system was leaking refrigerant and likely would fail in the hot summer months. He suggested an appointment with a comfort specialist to help evaluate replacing our unit. We were sold on the Ease Comfort program by our salesperson Josh Nice, who assured us we would be replacing our existing unit (which had worked the previous summer) with a more efficient unit and would not only be saving money but getting better cooling throughout our home due to the two-stage cooling, which was supposedly an upgrade to our existing unit. The installation on 6/1 went well, but we immediately noticed the unit could not keep up with the hot temperatures outside. In the subsequent two months that followed we have had no less than 7 different technician and supervisor visits. Each time they assure us they have “fixed” what was wrong with this brand new unit, but so far, we have seen no improvement. It is a different tech that comes every time and there is no follow up after their visits to ensure things are fine (which they obviously are not). I am hoping, at some point, that I can provide an update on this review with good news about finally getting us a system that cools satisfactorily, but I am quickly losing faith. After two months of not getting adequate cooling from a brand new unit, spending more on our electric bill and spending hours having to rearrange work schedules to accommodate technician visits, we are beyond frustrated and disappointed.

Update: I am pleased to come back to this review and report that the team at Signature continued to work with us toward resolution. They ended up replacing the entire outdoor unit which definitely improved the cooling performance. As it was nearing the end of the cooling season, it’s been hard to determine the efficiency and if there is any cost savings in our power bill. The bill over the last 1.5 months of summer was higher than in previous years but it’s hard to know exactly why. I do suspect there are still some issues with the thermostat which does not seem to be very accurate. we will have to address that next season. That’s the beauty of the Comfort Ease program. You do have on going support.

We had not one but TWO gas leaks in our pipes leading to the hot water heater and furnace at 2:00am on Christmas Day, believe it or not. After the gas company came, told us that, and shut off the gas, we called a dozen emergency/24 hour HVAC companies for assistance as it was the coldest it had been in forever here. The house promptly got down to 48 degrees with the heat shut off!

As soon as they possibly could, Signature HVAC got us out a tech at 11:00am that same morning. Tim was professional, understanding, and empathic to our situation. In less than an hour he had the system repaired, made sure nothing else was leaking, and talked to us about possibly needing more pipe work done which we had already been thinking about.

Couldn't have asked for more prompt, courteous, and wonderful service. Signature just got a loyal customer for years to come.
