Bad Nightmare

Very unprofessional installation; extremely sloppy workmanship. Two control wiring mistakes caused system not to work properly. Air handler fan ran continuously, never stopped and AC would not operate in economy mode. Return air duct not supported from the floor; just left hanging. Caulking of of supply plenum very messy; looked like kindergartner's finger painting. Control wiring looked like a rats nest. System very noisy upon start-up; Donnelly made very little effort to resolve the problem. Problem still exists one year later. Extremely poor customer service. They were actually very rude. Would not return phone calls or respond to emails. Very nice until they got my money and problems arose.

I am a professional mechanical engineer with 40 years experience in facilities engineering and management. Worst contractor I ever experienced both personally and professionally. Never again will I let them work on my HVAC system!

Great company to work for!!! The owner Tom donnelly is one of the nicest men I know. He will do anything for anyone no matter what the cost. He has truly been an inspiration to me personally and I can not thank him enough for everything that he and his family has done for me! If you are looking for a trustworthy family owned, local expert company to handle any of you HVAC needs than Donnelly HVAC is the ONLY company to choose! Give them a call and find out for yourself.

Donnely installed my Luxaire system around 4-5 years ago. No problems with the install.

Early this summer my Luxaire unit was not cooling. A tech came out and said he could not do anything until it was hotter. It was in the low 80’s. He did not check the charge of the unit. A week or so later he was out again and recharged the system which fixed the cooling, at least temporarily. Little or no effort was made to properly diagnose the issue. I scheduled another call due to the unit not cooling again. The appointment was for 8/14 between 8 -12. On 8/14 at 9:30 I left my house to pickup my son around the corner. During that time a blocked caller called my cell at 9:38 and I assumed it was a scam or telemarketer. It was the technician. My voicemail notification went off at 9:39 and I pulled back into my driveway before 9:45. The tech was gone. I called Donnelly at 9:46 and asked for the tech to be sent back but they said they would call me back. A few minutes later they said they could not get out today. Needless to say I was very upset. Upset with the blocked caller ID and the inability to turn a tech around who was minutes away. I estimate the tech was there for less than 10 minutes per my security cameras.

Now on to a bigger complaint. I hired another company to come out and service the unit. The new company came out and immediately stated there was an active recall on the A coil and a class action lawsuit against Luxaire for the failing A coils. Even though the unit is out of warranty the new A coil is covered and we have recourse with Luxaire for the labor. Donnelly made no effort to properly repair the system or even look into any potential recalls on a system they sold.

I run a large residential service company who deals with service windows and technicians. I truly understand residential service, service windows, and dispatching. Although I was NOT happy with the blocked caller ID I will accept responsibility for the missed service call. I had to run out for 15 min and should have called their office to let them know. What I can’t accept is the failure to properly support a product they sold me. The lack of a sense of urgency from the office and the technicians inability to properly diagnose and repair my system in the 2 prior calls.

Terrible experience. As good as they were to come to my house and collect $125.00 for courtesy visit twice a year, 5 years in a row… they were just as horrible when needed. Being lied, manipulated, misinformed and cheated several times within a week. It only comes down to the owner and his wife. People with no face, no character, no dignity, hypocrites. All they did was using the receptionist and having regular honest people cover for their sloppy work and irresponsibility. I wasn’t going to leave this review until a colleague of mine told me a bad experience with Donnelly as well. I am glad l am not the only one sharing this experience with Donnelly, however l am terribly sorry other people had to go through this. I wonder how they're still in bussiness. I hope someone reads my review and finds it helpful. People!!!!!!!!!.... google HVAC in West Chester and contact someone that has 4.8 star and above rating. NEVER EVER DONNELLY. Do yourself this favor.

Their pricing on parts is insane! Thank God I asked for a breakdown on my quote for a repair. I need a temp sensor for my oil furnace that runs for $35 from HVAC wholesaler. They quoted me for $160 and $38 shipping for a part that could fit in an envelope! This isn't including the labor. I wouldn't be surprised if they are pocketing the difference. Good thing I'm the type that shops around. Gotta be careful of these thieves overcharging to make a profit. I only give my business to honest people. The tech Mo was nice, but I'll be looking elsewhere for my services from now on.

Fantastic job on our install. Lou's expertise were very much needed during an unexpected snag. He quickly diagnosed the problem and devoted extra time to make sure the system worked properly. We are very pleased with everything!

I highly recommend Donnelly Heating and Air Conditioning. Professional and courteous sales and service technicians, great prices, and an installation with no surprises. Doesn't get any better. For those of us with no experience in the HVAC arena, just follow the advice Tom Donnelly gives you.

Donnelly Heating and Air Conditioning were suppose to be out at my parents house between 10-2, they claim they knocked multiple times on the door but my girlfriend and I were here in the living room with a baby and 2 dogs and I can tell you they never knocked once! When my mother called them the women over the phone was extremely rude. She basically argued with her saying “my technicians were at the right house and never went to the wrong house you guys just never answered. When my mom said let me give you my sons number she had the nerve to say “ oh we don’t need that we have called enough numbers today”. I’m a manager of a restaurant and I deal with customers all day long and this women by far was absolutely horrible and doesn’t know a thing about customer service. Needless to say we called horizon and they were great.

They responded quickly to my request for a quote for replacing my A/C unit and also combined it with replacing my heater. The quote was the best one and they could install in the next week. It is doing a great job.
