Incompetent and have no idea what they’re doing. Don’t waste your money here and go somewhere else.

Update: I originally gave Steven's Air Conditioning 5 stars. Now I wish I could give them 10 stars: My air conditioning unit stopped working on yesterday's extreme heat wave. I figured I'd be without service for at least a couple of days because of the streak of 95+ days we've been having. Wrong, a repairman came around midday, found the problem, fixed it, and checked everything else that could cause problems (e.g. filter). This was a different person that the one I had earlier given 5 stars to and this person also told me to buy my own replacement for a thermostat to save money and then call to have it installed. How can that be dishonest, letting me know it would cost more to have them order it? I think they're great!!

Following is my original review.

I'm giving them 5 stars because it's hard for me to relate to the other reviewer feeling ripped off. I had very good service from them and the person who came suggested a way for me to save money with them by buying my own thermostat. The person I bought my condo from used them and passed along their contact info. I don't plan on selling but I would do the same if I did.

I was very disappointed by the hourly billing policies. Arrived after noon and left before 2:15 but I was billed for every minute of the 2.25 hours.
Tech not only made multiple trips to the van for forgotten parts but also performed a bunch of unnecessary carpentry work (housed drain line to unit) in a non-workman like fashion without consulting me. If the choice was "hey I can spend 90 minutes totally messing this up and I will bill you for it or I can leave now and you will need to either live with the exposed drain line or get a pro to do this work", I would have chosen the latter.

I don't expect an HVAC tech to be a carpenter and while I appreciate the effort, I will essentially have to pay for the work twice. The right thing to do in this situation is to back out all the van trips (there must have been 3) and the time spent performing work in a non-professional manner. Or have a standard price list. Customers shouldn't have to pay to train inexperienced techs. Thankful to have had this experience as I know not to engage this company for a larger job.

Rip off company. Never fixed my central air and charged me over $200.00. Over $50.00 of that was for gas. I was never told about that charge until the man was leaving. I tried fighting this charge with my credit card company but because I signed the invoice, my card company said I have no claim. He then gave me another estimate to clean the broken system for over $1000.00. Further, the man they sent didn't diagnose the problem and kept calling his supervisor for advice. Run don't walk from this company.

Very disappointed. Our central AC was not working well these passed few days and we had technicians out today who said we needed the coils cleaned. After 4 hours and over $800 in labor (which seems like a lot), he said let the house cool down 2 degrees at a time. The apartment was 78 degrees and he set it to 76 degrees. I left all the blinds down , did not run the dryer or the over or any form of heat. 2.5 hours later the current inside temp is 79 degrees. I called to tell them this and 4:15pm is considered after hours. 🥵

Great job, diagnosed problem correctly on 2 occasions, repaired quickly. Replaced blower motor and variable speed module (did not need a whole new furnace, as previously advised!), fixed AC in summer. Then a dead bird stuck in vent, blocking inducer motor, found and fixed quickly, heat back on working great. Quick response and good quality service.

These guys were courteous, professional, clean, FAST, and had all the parts they'd need to replace my entire system in less than a day. Props to them. No mess. No damage. No unexpected hiccups. Thank you!

Thank you so much!! My air conditioner stopped working on a 90 degree day. I called Stevens at 8 am, and my air was up and running again by late afternoon. Howard was wonderful!

They will rip you off. Please don't rely on them. Definitely not in emergency please. They will use your situation. I was charged 260$ for spending 1 hr at my location and advised me to spend 2500$ to resolve the hot water issue.
