My technician was on time, communicative (called and texted when 40 min away), and explained everything to me in clear and respectful way. They were able to fix my broken AC on the spot, and it was reasonably priced.

My only complaint is that the website isn't clear about what counts as a free estimate and what requires a deposit, and that the more expensive rush option would have required me to be home all day with no guarantee they'd fit me in.

That said, I'm very happy with the results and customer service!

I needed some electrical work done a newish home, and I reached out to GEN3 and some other smaller operations in the city. GEN3 was the most prompt and willing to get the work done fast so I went with them.

The plus side is that they're actually adults at running their business. They are responsive, proactive with scheduling changes, and make payment very easy. It's shocking how difficult it is to manage simple logistics with the average sole proprietor (or even most larger operations). I also found the staff member they sent to my property to be courteous and extremely professional. He was willing to take the time to answer my questions and teach me a bit as he worked.

The negative side is that it's expensive for smaller jobs. For some electrical work on a handful of outlets and testing/mapping some coax drops, I ran a bill for over $600. That's not outrageous, but it's definitely more than I've seen smaller operations charge for a couple hours of work with minimal materials.

I'm not upset, they were upfront, professional -- I will happily pay a premium for folks not wasting my time.

They offer great maintenance programs as well. We’ve been customers for several years and have always been happy.

We had over 90 recessed halogen lights replaced with new LED wafers in our home. We also had recessed lighting in a large built-in cabinet and several other light fixtures upgraded to LED and new smart switches installed throughout the house. Mike J provided the estimates. Kevin, Ed, Scott, Levon, Aaron, and Brandon did the install. All these guys showed up on time, we’re polite, knowledgeable, and operated a really clean worksite…very professional. I really can’t say enough about the electricians who completed this work. Overall, Gen3 provided high quality service at a reasonable price. I highly recommend Gen3.

This is the second time I used Gen3, and once again it was a fabulous experience. A portion of the duct work for my heating unit was rusted out with a giant hole. When the technician went into the basement, he checked out the entire heating system and let me ask a bunch of questions about it. I am a newish home owner and don't know that much about the house. He gave detailed answers and was honest when he wasn't sure. He checked out the busted portion and gave me a cheap and expensive option to fix it, which I really appreciated. I asked even more questions and decided to go with replacing the whole section. He was quick, efficient, respectful and explained to me how he fixed it and why. It was a very thorough and thoughtful job, and it was very refreshing not to be pressured into services I didn't want or need. Scheduling and paying was also a breeze. I LOVE how much technology is built into the business--texts, emails, technicians with tablets. It's so much easier than the old school companies that do everything by phone.
