Dowd Mechanical Heating & Air Conditioning

I recently had a new oil furnace installed by Dowd, and I am very pleased with their work. Terence was my main point of contact, and he was very helpful in suggesting the best furnace for my home with no pressure to purchase. He was friendly and always quick to respond to any inquiries I had. Mike and Dimitri installed the furnace and they were great as well. They were as quiet as they could be while here, and cleaned up everything when they were finished. Everyone was professional and courteous, and Shonda in the office was also very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Dowd!

If you are looking for a heating and air conditioning service company, I highly recommend Dowd. Every department is focused on customer service. Their technicians are experienced and very knowlegable, answering all my in questions in detail. I have had a heating system installed, and regular maintenance visits. On a recent maintenance call, the tech measured the air quality in my house, and showed the levels to be borderline high. Although Jim recommended an Air Scrubber, I did not feel pressured to buy it. Since I suffer from allergies, I opted to get one, which was a quick installation in the duct. The air quality will be checked again in the spring, when I expect to see more healthy levels.
Overall, Dowd offers the highest quality service, which is often hard to find.

We always can rely on Dowd's in our time of need, for servicing our HVAC system and unexpected problems that arise. Recently needed to replace a water heater that was leaking. Called, and they returned my call quickly, came out and installed a new hot water heater within a few hours. They are polite ,professional, and they appreciate your business and we appreciate theirs .

Great service. Collapsed duct was replaced with new metal return duct work and immediately got full airflow. Very happy with service and tech. Just wished it hadn't taken almost 3 weeks from diagnosis to repair.

Our boiler broke. We called after hours. They returned our call promptly. They gave us a visit time and we’re on time. The service gentlemen was knowledgeable, engaging, and very personable. We would definitely use them again. We have even met mentioned their names to other homeowners already. Something about great costumer service. Just goes along way.

I have had to good experiences working with Dowd Mechanical. There were recommended to me from a local HVAC supplier and came out to my house on a Saturday to look at my broken air conditioner. The technician explained to me in detail the issue and provided me a quote onsite to perform the necessary repair work. The office contacted me within a few days to schedule the work with the same tech. The tech arrived on time, performed the work, reviewed with me that everything was properly working, and cleaned up the work area when he was finished. Recently, they came out for a second visit to service my oil furnace. They checked all the boxes of good communication, on time, and good customer service. Highly Recommend!

An update to my review of last year. Dowd continues to provide excellent HVAC support to our home. We've had a maintenance contract with Dowd for a number of years, and they have provided consistently excellent service so that we are confident going into the winter or fall season that our systems will perform to their max. On one occasion our furnace blower died, and we called Dowd to come out and they immediately had a tech to our home, diagnosed our issue and replace the dead part. Heartedly recommend.

Dowd is always very responsive to our heating and air conditioning needs. They perform a thorough job with their maintenance service, and on two occasions this year along, were quick to respond when our system needed repairs. We are very happy with the company, and look forward to continuing having them service our heat pump units.

I contacted Dowd for a seasonal service. Immediately before the service our AC went out. I called and informed the office of our problem. The staff was extremely helpful and scheduled the technician to come out earlier and prepared him for the issues I described. He was able to quickly diagnose it as a bad capacitor, which he replaced with one he had on hand.

Jim the tech was very professional and was knowledgeable about all the equipment at our home. In addition to correcting the AC and heating issue, he ran an air quality check of our system and explained the readout data to me. He needed to drill some holes in the venting to test for the temperature and air quality and when complete, covered all the evidence of that work.

I have used Dowd and several other HVAC companies for other properties. I highly recommend Dowd for all related services and use them for my home property exclusively. They are honest, reliable and consistently well trained.
