We had to have our furnace replaced and the company to which we were referred by NW Natural Gas came back with an astronomical quote, so we started looking around for other options. We found D&R Heating on Angie's List and contacted them for a quote. They were prompt in returning our call, told us over the phone what it would cost, gave us the name of the type of unit that they would suggest putting in and told us to research it online, which was a nice piece of advice, and gave us time to do the due diligence. When it came to actually replacing our furnace they were fast, prompt, courteous, professional and did a fantastic job. I would recommend this company to anyone.

Our oil furnace went out and the company helped make sure our heat was back on quickly since we were experiencing a very cold snap (they went above and beyond driving back to the shop then back out to our house with parts at the end of the day). The technicians were friendly and professional and explained all the options and possible costs for us. It was nerve wracking at first to have to meet a new furnace repair service during an emergency but I am so glad we found D and R.

These guys were great from start to finish!!! Our furnace had died at the end of winter we decided summer was was the time to buy a new one. We had been considering putting in central air for many years but never pulled the trigger due to cost. D&R by far gave us the best deal! From Adam who gave us the estimate to the electrician, to the installers, all were very friendly and professional and the install was completed in a day a half. An inspector from the city of Gresham came out to inspect the installation and said and I quote" boy these guys did a really good job for what they had to work with". Apparently our house was a more difficult job according to the inspector. They cleaned up their mess and you would've never known they were there. Everything works great and we couldn't be happier as we are head into another August heat wave! I highly recommend this company!

I called this company after I had a horrible experience with another Heating Company. Michelle in the office couldn't believe how awful I had been treated. She contacted her Tech, Mark, who worked me into his very busy schedule that same day. He was personable, respectful and knowledgeable and fixed my furnace for free! In the future if I need my furnace repaired, I will without a doubt call D&R. This company knows how to treat it's customers.

The company reached out to follow up on the review below. Our sales rep, Justin, was very apologetic about our experience and wanted to make things right. It sounds like they were going through some growth transition at the company and we weren't the only ones frustrated by the communication breakdown. We appreciated the gesture and do want to reiterate that at the end of the day, we got a working system installed quickly at a fair price.

Unfortunately we can't recommend this company. We went with them because they were able to install the system so quickly (within a few days instead of having to wait 3 weeks) and, at the end of the process, we did end up with working central air conditioning system. However, working with them was far from easy. Communication about what to expect in the process was poor; of the 6 times someone came to our house only once did they come when they said they were coming; I often had to call myself to follow up instead of receiving phone calls as promised; the system that was initially installed had multiple problem areas; and our service rep was defensive when we shared concerns about the system not working correctly. The best part of the whole process were the technicians who came out when we called about the system not working and did a lot in the way of service recovery. Those guys identified the problem quickly, remedied it and even apologized for the trouble it caused. All in all, we did end up with the product we wanted at a fair price but it was certainly a hassle that we wouldn't willingly repeat.

Nate has been great to work with, very professional and informative. Their technicians were quick with removal and install of our new furnace, punctual and cleaned up very well when finished.

This company takes pride in their work and performance, which seems to be a rarity these days. For people who want the best deal for their money and heating/cooling investment can find it with D&R. They provide top notch service, so look no further these are the guys you want.

I am giving a 3 instead of one because they came out twice. The first time was to service my furnace and the technician was amazing and thorough. The second visit was to service my AC and this technician was not as thorough and I am having issues with my AC cooling the house properly. I have called twice and left messages with no return call. I guess it depends on the tech.

First hot day in the Portland area (in May, no doubt) and our AC wasn't working.

I was worried that with the mini heat wave, every company would be booked and I was going to be left sweating out the weekend, and for the most part I was right. After calling 3 shops that couldn't get someone out until Tuesday, D&R Heating was able to get someone out the next morning!

Rick, the technician, was great! He took the time to explain what he was looking at or testing and didn't mind my questions. Unfortunately for me, our fan motor was out and needed replacement. They were able to get the part the same day and complete the repair.

I had to leave for my kiddos soccer game, but we came home to working AC! The price was extremely fair (I called around) and they didn't charge anything extra for the rush service, and we both know they could have with my situation.

Highly recommended!

Very nice staff on the phone, helped me navigate my home warranty's requirements for a furnace tune-up before winter, and when a part needed replacing, they scheduled me way sooner than I expected (same-day!).

Noah, one of their technicians, was friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to walk me through what he was doing so I could learn a thing or two about my home's system.
