I hired Green Tech to install air conditioning at my home (August 2019) and could not have been happier with how the project turned out, from start to finish. When initially getting the estimate, Scott clearly explained each option with pros and cons, and how installation would work. The day of the project, everyone on site was respectful of my time and home and made sure everything was working as expected before leaving.

Bottom line is, Scott is down-to-earth, honest, and does a great job at a fair price, and I would definitely recommend Green Tech to friends and family.

My house was freezing. An unscrupulous HVAC company convinced me my furnace was beyond repair. I thought I had no choice but to spend thousands for a new system.

A friend recommended Green Tech, and Scott came over to give a bid.

I told him the furnace was shot, so he spent about 20 minutes just looking over the house, answering questions and recommending the best new system. His expertise was clear, and I was leaning towards using his company, even if his bid came in higher.

But then! As he was at the door to leave, I made a casual remark and his ears perked up. He went back to examine the furnace itself and quickly determined that I did NOT need a new one, explaining everything as he went.

When Scott left, my house was warm and I had saved thousands of dollars. He could have easily just given me a bid for a new system, but he went more than the extra mile, and was incredibly honest and knowledgeable.

Scott cares about people, doing the right thing, and doing great work. He's earned a customer for life, and I can't recommend Green Tech highly enough.

We are very happy Greentech Heating clients. Our old furnace completely died a couple of weeks ago, just as a winter snow storm was about to hit Portland. Scott and Abe were able to shift some scheduled work around and get a new furnace installed the next day! Scott chatted about the pros and cons of fixing the existing furnace vs installing a new one. His HVAC knowledge is deep, and we aways feel like we're in good hands, and appreciate the professional work. Thank you Scott & Abe.

(This is, in fact, the second furnace Scott has installed for us, He replaced an oil furnace with a gas furnace at our old place, back in 2013. It ran without perfectly for the 7 years we lived there).

Green Tech did an excellent job moving our furnace and rebuilding the ductwork in our basement. Scott and Abe went out of their way to minimize the impact of the work on the rest of our house and had helpful suggestions regarding placement. They are friendly, conscientious, and keep a very clean workplace. I wish they remodeled basements, I’d hire them to do our entire project!

I’ve never written a review before...I wish I could think of something clever and eye catching to grab your attention. But this is what you need to know:

GreenTech replaced my furnace with an American Standard (gold series) and installed an air conditioner at the same time; also an American Standard (silver series) in April 2016.

Scott and his team are THE BEST to work with. You will see many reviews about his excellent communication~it’s true. He is quick to get back over email and text.

He told me the work would take two days and it actually only took two days! He and his crew showed up when they said they would and finished on time. (Furnace the first day, A/C unit the next) They did an excellent job cleaning up each day when they were done.

GreenTech’s prices are good. I got three quotes. The units I chose from GreenTech were the same brand but a higher efficiency and less cost than the first company’s quote (shiny/slick salesman) and were similar to another quote but when I met Scott, I knew he is an authentic guy who knew what he was talking about. (I was a property manager for both residential and commercial properties for many years and have a lot of experience buying and replacing HVAC systems and working with HVAC guys).

When the salesman type guy comes to your home to give you an estimate, although you may get a sense of liking that person and how they represent their company, you don’t know who is going to actually show up at your house and do the work. Scott gives the estimate AND does the work so you know and feel good about who you are letting into your home.

In Oct 2018 a part failed on my furnace (I hesitate to add this but it all ties into why you need to hire GreenTech). It was a bad electrical something-or-other (can’t remember exactly) that was a manufacturer’s issue. I emailed Scott, he came out the same day, found the problem (since it was a piece inside the furnace he had to order it from the company) and replaced it a couple days later—it was especially cold, he wanted to get it in ASAP and worked at night to get the heat back on for us. When I asked him about payment he said it was covered. I expected the part to be covered but I also expected to pay him for his time or a trip fee or something. Nope. Everything was covered. THAT IS SOME CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Everything works great, it’s all quiet, we are warm and toasty in the winter and nice and cool on those few 90 degree days.

One more thing—while Scott was installing our furnace he also helped me troubleshoot a couple of areas in my basement and how best to warm them without installing more ducting. He was very willing to take time with me to work on solutions.

Please seriously consider GreenTech. I can’t recommend them enough. A few reviews talk about them being fun to work with.....it’s so true! Plus good value and excellent work, you can’t go wrong with GreenTech.

Look no further. These guys are wonderful! We worked with Scott from the initial bid, installation of new ductless heat pumps and through to the tax rebate paperwork. Having one contact was amazing, especially since we had a 7 week old infant! Scott was kind, considerate, knowledgeable, professional and prompt. Incredibly easy to communicate with and get a hold of. We love our new system and would recommend them to everyone.

Cannot recommend this company enough. They are professional and maintain a rare level of craftsmanship on the home level, while being affordable. I work as a commercial mechanical contractor, and I know how rare someone like Scott at Greentech is: no ridiculous script, no silly polyester uniforms, no booties, no theater performance. It can be hard to compare prices for a furnace replacement, but scott gave me the best product out there while the other four bids I got all wanted to charge a bit more for a furnace that was worth thousands of dollars less. Scott also prioritized my needs, installing a whole house filter for dust that has relieved me of allergies all winter. If you want the best work while you money stays local with the community, hire these guys.

I called Scott to get a full furnace installation after having to decommission my oil tank and being left with an unusable oil furnace. I had five other estimates from major/well-known companies in the Portland area and was the most impressed with Greentech. The value was great, quoted equipment was just what I had in mind, Scott was very honest and knowledgeable (not trying to up-sell me on equipment I didn't need, like the others) and they included a great warranty- none of the other companies warranted their work or the equipment without a huge fee. Scott showed up as scheduled, did an amazing job, took care of all the work with the gas company and city, and now I'm up and running and ready for the winter with a new gas furnace that I feel great about. Definitely glad I found these guys.

Scott and GreenTech did an amazing job installing a new furnace and central air in my house in Portland. He was here on time, finished on schedule - and if it's possible for running ducts to be a work of art, Scott delivered a masterpiece. Other contractors were on-site working on other parts of my house renovation and were all impressed with his knowledge, professionalism and artistry. A nice benefit of working with Scott is his demeanor. He's an incredibly kind and caring person. I trusted him instantly and felt absolutely great about his recommendations. I can't recommend Scott and GreenTech highly enough!

Greentech installed a heat pump and four interior heating/cooling heads in our home. Greentech owner Scott did a preliminary inspection of the spaces we wanted air conditioned and offered his suggestions about placement and equipment. We were very impressed with his technical knowledge. He has a several years experience with DAIKA and strongly suggested using their equipment. We accepted his bid and arranged a time for installation. Scott and his assistant Abe showed up on schedule and completed the job in two days. The exterior installation of electrical and fluid lines is very clean and minimally intrusive. Scott also rewired the thermostat for the existing gas furnace to a location over the cold air return and installed a NEST that I had purchased earlier to the new location. He also removed the obsolete electrostatic filter on the furnace and installed a long lasting paper filter. He did not charge for the thermostat and filter labor. Scott spent a great deal of time explaining operation of the heat pump units and the NEST thermostat. He answered clearly all of our questions about operation of the equipment and offered suggestions about co-coordinating the DAIKA units with our gas furnace. Scott and Abe are very pleasant individuals and we enjoyed having them in our home.
