From the very beginning, Albert, who handled our heat pump install (we were replacing an oil furnace), was clear in his communication, polite and punctual. The removal of the old furnace, the installation of the new equipment and all work connected with it was done within the two-day window of time they had promised. As with any project of such great scope, there were a couple small tweaks which needed to be made; Albert and his associate, Dillon, were good in addressing these to our satisfaction. Ultimately, we are very happy to be warm again!

Getting an estimate and later installing central air was such a straightforward, transparent, and overall good experience with Albert and EcoHeat! It was affordable too. Great response to needs/questions and great follow up, and great communication in general. Our new AC works like a charm! When there was one possible issue with the indoor part of the unit, Albert from EcoHeat responded immediately and straightened it out the same day. Highly recommended!

From bidding through completion, EcoHeat did a fantastic job installing a ducted heat pump at our house. When our neighbor was unsure about how loud it would be, EcoHeat invited us to come to their headquarters to see the unit in action. Whenever we had questions, they provided thoughtful answers. Thomas and the crew at Ecoheat PDX are nothing short of phenomenal. 100% professional and extremely knowledgeable about their work, they all went to great lengths to educate us about the new heating/cooling system we were getting into, and what the best options were for our needs and budget. During installation, they were considerate, careful, clean and quiet. When we ran into some trouble getting a partial refund back from Energy Trust (I wouldn't take the "trust" part too far there), Thomas personally offered to refund a portion of the rebate we were not able to get -- exceptional service and really wonderful people. Cannot recommend highly enough!

I believe communication is what separates a good contractor from a great one. I couldn't be happier with the level of communication I had with Albert. He answered everything and helped me explore a few different options for a new mini-split system before arriving at a solution that met all my needs. Thom and his crew were awesome. Installed a Trane AC unit in a rather challenging location and made it work. Crew was on time, and did great work. His quote was reasonable and the finished product was excellent. I got three quotes and went with Thom because he was fair, and I liked that Eco Heat was an owner operated small business. Turns out Thom had actually done a lot of work for my neighbors and friends and everyone loves him -- now I know why!

Had furnace replaced by EcoHeat after our old one was diagnosed with (probable) mainboard failure after ~25 years of service. Everyone at EcoHeat was very prompt for all appointments, and the communication was excellent making the decision-making process completely painless. We were back to a fully heated house in 2 days. Ecoheat is great. I started with just rough plans that we wanted AC and air filtration in case of the next heat wave during a fire season. Ecoheat gave us a bunch of options and prices for each and in the end it made more sense and was only slightly more expensive to use a heat pump instead of an AC unit. The heat pump can can more efficiently cool & heat the house, making our aging furnace a backup to the really cold days. They also adjusted the furnace placement to make future replacement easier. At the end they gave us a clear tutorial on how to adjust our nest thermostat with the new setup & how to clean the reusable whole house airfilter.

Albert was great, both when he gave me the initial inspection/estimate on replacing my dead furnace and when he installed it. He answered all my questions thoroughly, was personable and straightforward, and took the time to be sure I understood the details.

I particularly appreciated his answer when I asked him about when the price differences between a 96% efficient and an 80% efficient system are justified (since the offset in efficiency may not justify the increased price because natural gas is not very expensive). He simply stated that the gas savings would not justify the price difference, but the 96% model would be quieter etc. In simple terms he treated me like an intelligent human who needed a furnace. There was no "salesman" aspect at all. Very refreshing, and appreciated. 100% happy with the whole process.

Thomas and his assistants are thoughtful, patient, excellent problem-solvers, available, and stick with you well after the final check is written. Thomas and Clayton helped solve some vexing HVAC issues in our 1908 home left after poor work performed by larger contractors. Thomas is highly experienced, doesn't over-promise, and has always delivered.

His first work was a heat pump installation in our attic -- he gave a lot of us advice about various heating/cooling options, helped us understand what the heat pump would look like in a design-sensitive space, and has followed up as needed for success. And as mentioned, based on this positive experience, he has become our contractor of choice for fixing other HVAC issues in our house that others couldn't handle.

I have recommended him already to a happy customer, and would enthusiastically recommend him to many others.
