In the process of a kitchen remodel, a faulty PGE equipment failure caused a high voltage burnout of my gas furnace. My remodeling company's HVAC sub tried and failed to get my furnace up and running and told me it had to be replaced and gave me a quote for a new furnace for $5,800. I saw that Cost Plus was one of the approved vendors of new high efficiency furnaces qualifying for a rebate, so I called Steve and he came out the same day after 5pm. Basically, he took one close look at my furnace and asked me why hadn't the previous sub been able to repair it. He gave me tons of useful information about the purchase of a new furnace but kept coming back to the idea of a possible repair for my furnace. I eventually agreed he should try to repair it, handed him the keys to my house and left for my dinner engagement and when I came home I had heat and a written explanation of his work and what I needed to do to keep it operating properly during my remodel (uncover and protect the intake air vents). Instead of selling me a new furnace which I was pretty intent on accomplishing, he repaired my furnace! Instead of spending thousands of dollars I had a repair bill of $240!!! Steve was incredibly knowledgeable, an excellent communicator of technical information and a skilled repair person--oh, and obviously very honest with high integrity. I can't recommend him enough!
Steve was great. We had a short timeline to replace our furnace and water heater and he made our schedule on budget and on time. Just an overall great experience. Highly recommended.
In December and January, we had Cost Plus Heating & Air install an American Standard Furnace and AC unit. We are very happy with the service and installation. Steve Sanderson, the owner, was extremely helpful and explained the operation of the units very clearly. We highly recommend Cost Plus Heating & Air for installation and service of American Standard equipment.
Steve was such a great person to work with! Cold winter day and Steve came as quick as he could, made me aware of a possible warrantee that I might have available and then even had the needed part in his truck! He had my house back and warm before I knew it ! Cost Plus Heating & Air is 100% my go to for any HVAC needs!
Second review for Steve/Cost Plus, a year after the first one: He's a hero! He fixed a suddenly dead air conditioner on a scorching day when I'm sure no one else would have been able to come out ... wow, same day service? and told me what to do before he got there, to keep the unit from burning out. He was able to fit me in between other jobs, which says a lot about how he takes care of his customers. It was great to learn he works on ductless mini-splits, and tankless water heaters ... I'd recently had someone else in on the minisplit, and while they did fine, I'm really glad to know I can call on Steve for all my HVAC/water appliances.

His fees were more than reasonable. I had to wait a couple weeks, since my needs were maintenance vs. emergency, but that seemed completely fair considering the busy season--and seeing how he was off and running to take care of two "no heat" calls after my house, on a late weekend afternoon, tells me a lot about his responsiveness. As others have said, customer for life! I know I've got a few years left on my furnace, but when it does need replacing? I know I'll call Cost Plus, 'cause I'll feel confident of getting a fair deal.

At a difficult moment - busted furnace - Steve from Cost Plus swooped in and saved the day/winter! His old-school dedication, professionalism, and tenacity looking for the right fix for us was really inspiring. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
This was the best service interaction we have done on our home. THE BEST. Response time was so fast, and when Steve came out to quote our job he did two things other salespeople have NEVER DONE: 1) he explained how others would try to upsell the job, and 2) he didn't bag on our current furnace situation (which everyone else did). I like that! He was honest and didn't have to give us a "gloom and doom scenario". The install of our AC was so fast and I can say OUR HOME IS CHANGED FOR THE BETTER. Cannot recommend them enough!!!
We have been doing business with Cost Plus for more than 30 years. They have done jobs, big and small, on rental property and my own home. We have become so trusting of Steve's judgement, we don't bother with competing bids--Cost Plus has always been best on final cost. Other bids often leave something out or discover some complication. We just have renters call Cost Plus for needed repairs, Steve finds a time convenient to the renters, and they report quick, competent and personable service. I just looked at their website to get their office address while I was away from home and notice there were reviews. Hey, the world should know about Cost Plus, I thought. I wont say more as already is too good to believe. Five stars covers the rest of what you might ask.
Came home today, AC was making noise, and not running right. Called Steve at Cost Plus Heating, explained what was going on, he knew exactly what it was over the phone. Made an appointment, and Steve took care of it. Worked with Steve on all our HVAC needs over the years. Would highly recommend. Great guy, professional. Thanks again Steve
