I had P&L Johnson Mechanical visit my property to get an idea of what options we had to address some of the the issues with the HVAC system in our house. I had Diamond Heating Inc do the same thing. Both of their respective technicians were great. However, that is where the similarity between the two companies ends. P&L Johnson sent me a bill for $400 for the consult and never gave me an estimate for a heat pump system. I even sent a message stating that I would like an estimate for the heat pump system from Clenet (the guy that came out to do an estimate after the technician visited) when I sent payment by check for the invoice (#40473). To be fair, they did say it would be a service call and, as stated, Adam was great. Though if I knew their hourly rate up front, then I would not have spent as much time getting to know Adam. I was charged for 3 hours @ $125 plus $25 travel. I would be less peeved had they sent an actual estimate as requested. That said, Diamond Heating, on the other hand, did not charge me anything for their technician to visit and sent me an estimate in a timely manner. You can guess which company I went with.
I encourage you to read the reviews for this company. I actually made a call to the owner after the technician visited to tell him that their technician was great. Maybe that technician can be poached to work at Diamond Heating so he can work at a quality, customer service oriented company. Two stars for Adam the technician; otherwise, this would have been a single star review..
P & L Johnson has been servicing my furnace for years and I've always been impressed by their technicians' knowledge & professionalism. Even their weekend emergency service is quick and effective and their pricing seems entirely reasonable given the quality of their work. When once there was a mistake they resolved it quickly and to my complete satisfaction, so that covers all the bases: I recommend them highly!
This company installed HVAC system in my new house build 2.5 years ago. during routine maintenance I requested they check filtration system. They informed me that it was not working due to construction debris, also suggested a filter on fresh air intake. I as for a quote 3 weeks ago, still no call because they blamed distributer delay on price quote. I went online and bought the part in 5 minutes and will have another company install. when i called them they did not seem to care. Business must be good enough to not care about previous customer.
They cleaned out our duct system and did a good job, but it was super expensive. I got an off-the-cuff quote for around $400-$500 (he didn't tour the house, so that was on me) but we got our bill for $800! For our little 1600 square foot house. With this company make sure you get your detailed quotes in writing ahead of time...
I hired P&L Johnson to replace my water heater, furnace, and fireplace. They did an outstanding job!. Very reliable and professional. Their Sales rep (Clenet Corderman) and Customer Support is world class and gave the utmost in superior service. HIGHLY recommend!
The Staff are very friendly and courteous. The Technician that came to the house was very nice. However $800 later my heat pump still only works intermittently. The technician told me that it could be a whole host of different reasons for this including that maybe the unit is just old and may need to be replaced. The technician also told me that perhaps my expectations were to high, expecting to keep the inside temp at 69-70 when it was 64-65 outside.
Sam our P&L service tech was amazing he showed up early found our issues and made sure everything was tip top before he left. Professional and technically proficient.
P and L installed 3 Diakin air systems. At the time, a rebate was offered by Energy Trust of Oregon. $800 each on two machines and $1200 on one machine. P and L FIALED to send in the paper work for the rebate then BILLED us for the cost. Of course we did not pay them. Now we need service on one of the machines. This is a problem! WOW!!
Called these guys because the AC wouldn’t cool. They came and said that it’s an old type of freon that they don’t have. I bought the freon, called them again. The guy came, wasn’t able to find a leak and loaded system with an expensive freon anyways. For that that charged me a whooping $700 Needless to say after a few days all freon was gone since they didn’t bother to find and close the leak. A freon that costed me hundreds. When I called again they said they will charge me for another visit to come and find the leak. I ended up buying a whole new system from someone else since their prices were through the roof. I’ll never again call these con artists and a small court law suit is being filed.
