Portman Mechanical -- For all your Heating and Cooling Needs

We had an issue with our AC this summer and are very glad we used Portman Mechanical. The gentleman who worked on the unit was honest, patient answering questions and very knowledgeable. We had him back today to perform a tune up on our furnace before winter hits. We again were impressed with the professionalism shown and can’t recommend this company enough!

Mike and Tim Portman are very knowledgeable in there trade. My AC unit stopped working last month and I called them. Mike was in the area and came over in 15 minutes. He quickly discovered the issue and my Air Conditioner was working fine. I highly recommend using their services.

I couldn't be happier with the excellent service I received for both furnace and A/C. They arrived promptly at the scheduled time, identified themselves to me, and thoroughly checked both units. I was extremely impressed that they checked for CO upon entering the house to do the furnace checkup. Many others don't even bring a carbon monoxide monitor with them. And for my A/C which had been leaking coolant, they actually took the time to see if the part that needed replacing was under warranty. It was!!! What a relief. As a homeowner it's very important to me to to have trust in the company that's doing the work, I very much have that with Portman Mechanical and that's due to their professionalism and integrity. Without any reservation, I highly recommend them.

At the last minute our furnace would not ignite. Called Portman Mechanical and they were able to come out the same day. They were here at the time promised. Incredibly impressed with the service from the office staff to the technician. When it’s time to replace heating system will use this company. Cannot recommend them highly enough!

We bought our home 6 months ago and the original home owner bought American Standard 15 Seer Air conditioner, AS Heat Pump and AS humidifier from Portman Mechanical and had them install it. Unfortunately, our air broke today (90*) I called Portman and they were go great to have someone come out same day within 3 hours! The service tech was SO friendly and explained all the equipment and fixed the issue! We will definitely be using Portman for all our HVAC needs!

Tim and Team were willing and able to install a very gently used Tankless Hot water system where i formerly had a regular 50 gallon tank . Tim took the time to walk through the details of the install including the math related to Gas supply and code for intake and exhaust. His team did a great job, detailed oriented and clean looking install. Very happy with the work performed by Tim and team. Thanks is Portman Mechanical!!

We searched extensively for a company to replace our home HVAC system and interviewed several companies due to the complexity of our setup. We decided to go with Portman Mechanical due to Tim’s knowledge, patience, and honesty, all of which were conveyed during our initial consultation. We also appreciated the fact that owner/management is present during the job to assure the job is done professionally. Tim & company were very punctual, did a great job, and finished ahead of schedule. I highly recommend Portman Mechanical.

My wife and I bought a house in 3/2020. Our home inspector wasn't able to test our AC when we had the inspection done since there was snow on the ground. Turns out it didn't work. Our house flippers we bought it from didn't bother doing anything with it. The furnace was only a few years younger than ourselves, and on its last legs. We went through 2-10 home warranty to get these replaced. After a couple months of arguing with 2-10 (both us and Portman Mechanical spoke with their representatives and spent hours on hold--thank you Portman Mech) we were able to get approved to replace our system.

Tim Portman came out to do an assessment on our 30 year old system, explained all of our options, and the prices involved, and was very considerate of the fact that we were expecting twins, so he wanted to make sure we weren't spending too much. He is an HVAC expert, and a consummate professional. We can't recommend him enough. Every step of the way, he and his team fought our home warranty company to make sure we got the repairs we deserved.

Tim identified flaws with our water heater that we were not even aware of, and weren't informed of by our home inspector. We had them make some modifications to our water heating system at extra cost, but when they ran into some unexpected problems, they went ahead and replaced the parts they didn't quote us for, at their own cost--we didn't pay. Stand-up guy, stand-up company.

I chose Portman Mechanical because of all the good reviews. We were not disappointed. The Customer Service by phone and in person was excellent. We were able to set an appointment for the near future ~ the service was very good and the price very reasonable for the work. We will definitely use this company in the future. Thank you! Our older system was in need of maintenance and repairs, it ran on R22 refrigerant (still available for service, but no longer manufactured). In the midst of the late spring heatwave, a service representative was able to be scheduled. Soon our OLD unit was serviced and running. We learnt from our technician that he assumed a leak in the cooling system, though without further testing he could not tell for sure.

At that time, of the maintenance, my wife and I expressed interest in the possibility of updating our equipment. We scheduled for an appointment about a month later for a sales meeting with Tim Portman, Owner & and by chance our service technician.

About 2 weeks later we had to call for help, OLD system was failing to cool again. Tim was able to swing by later that day to add refrigerant, and left information on some of the HVAC options available to us.

We meet soon after with Tim Portman to discuss of needs and desires in a new HVAC system. We were able to make our order that day for the Furnace, a Heat Pump, Thermostat, and other items we wanted done.

The installation of the new system began on a Monday, just as the OLD system had begun to fail again that weekend. As the installation progressed, and the Heat pump was installed, that technician found a small leak on the outside of the house in the cooling line that was repaired. The entire installation was Professional, Clean, and Efficient.

In short, We are very happy with our new American Standard HVAC System. It's effortless to operate, goes automatically from AC to Heat, from Heat Pump to Furnace, to off. Whatever is needed it does it. It's also
so very quiet. As my wife says "I love it!". And of course, Tim Portman and his Technicians are the best.
