When the air conditioner goes out in a heat wave during a 35 guest family reunion, Ricky is the person you hope Comfort Master will send over. Though he couldn't fix the motor immediately, he gave several options to keep it tolerable. Including attaching our shop fan to the top of the unit temporarily!

My experience with Comfort Master was great. I had them come out for a tune-up and to assess some issues with my dampers on my 3 zone system.
The tech Julio arrived promptly, was professional and courteous. He quickly identified the issue with my dampers, explained the problem and the fix in layman's terms then got to work.

This is the second time I chose Comfort Masters for help with my HVAC system. I called CM first for a new HVAC install based on the phenomenal technical and customer service they provided the first time. ( For the “TL;DR” version, skip to chapter 2 😊). The first visit was in 2016 during a brutal heatwave that caused my A/C to go on strike. A quick Google search for the cost for an A/C service call and the subsequent calls to local HVAC companies suggested they were all price gouging (in my opinion), To add heat induced injury to insult, no one could come out for several days. Enter Richard from Comfort Masters. He came out within 2 hours of my call despite his obvious fatigue. He diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly, gave me advice to extend the life of my system (of which he wasn’t a fan 😂), and warned me I would likely have to replace it sooner rather than later. That brings us to today.
I had a premonition that my A/C was ready for permanent retirement. I was on an extended family visit in another city and a family member was house sitting this time. Three days after my premonition, I received a text letting me know that I’m apparently psychic. Scott came to my home to perform a consultation. Before he performed his evaluation of the system, he thoroughly explained what he would do and why. He answered all of my initial questions about A/C systems and invited me to tag along while he looked at the machines in the attic. I’m not crazy about heights, even via short ladders, but I compromised with my phobia and climbed high enough to see and hear what he was doing. He recorded his assessment and typed the data into a software program for further evaluation regarding the layout of my house and what hardware was best. (He found out one of my A/C systems was smaller than it should have been.) He gave me the pros and cons of several different systems suitable for my home. We put a pin in my choice ,until after my consultation with a second HVAC company for comparison.
This second evaluation was a very different experience. The rep came in, inspected the attic and outside systems, then told me the price of the system he recommended. I asked him a few questions I had (based on the education I received from Scott). Long story short, I got some validating information and some conflicting information from him. He recommended a system similar to the one I already had mainly because it’s easy to maintain I don’t doubt this rep’s knowledge and experience, but I like to have more information about and more input into monumental decisions that impact my life.
What matters most are equipment, post sale customer service, and cost. CM installs Trane systems, which are excellent and CM offers a phenomenal labor warranty, which is as important to me as the equipment. The sticking point was the price. The cost for the other company’s system was significantly lower and the company’s equipment, though lacking a labor warranty from the installer, has been considered a solid choice at a very good price — until recently. Scott emailed me an excerpt from Consumer Reports about a comprehensive review of many HVAC equipment manufacturers and their equipment and determined the company’s quality has fallen to the point CR does not recommend them. I compromised and went with a less efficient Trane to get to a price I could justify to my inner cheapskate while appeasing my intelligence.
The manager sent 2 nstall teams to insure I’d have A/C over the weekend. He also dropped in to introduce himself and check the teams’ progress. The installers were fast and efficient. They covered the floors and carpet and left nothing behind. The final rep showed me the features on the thermostats and checked that they were set to my chosen temperature. I had a few questions better answered by his supervisor which he said he’d look into. I expected an email next week but after I thought they’d left, my doorbell rang and it was Charles with the answers to my questions,
