Ed repaired my dog-chewed thermostat wiring,and gave my 2 units an inspection in the process. He was prompt and very transparent about what work he was doing, what was worth it, what wasn't, and he was reasonably priced overall.
Definitely will contact him again for the next work I need.

I have contacted Ed at Rainbow during each of the past two summers to service my leaky A/C unit and I have been very pleased with his work, his cordiality, and his fairness on both occasions. The summer prior to the first time I contacted Ed I used a different service, and while they did a good job as well I found them to be considerably more expensive. Ed is pragmatic about the fact that many people have older units that may leak freon but still function, and that most people can't afford the several thousand dollars it costs to replace a unit. Both times I've had him out to my residence he has worked quickly and has been friendly in explaining what he does and why he charges what he charges. As best as I can tell he seems to be a very honest businessman and that can be hard to find in this industry.

Extremely happy with my experience with Ed Cline and Rainbow Services. He came out at the first available opportunity, checked out the unit, and gave me an honest and thorough assessment of the issue. I opted to have a new Payne unit installed, and Ed gave me a good price. When I had follow up questions later in the day, prior to having the unit installed, Ed again was very thorough and forthcoming in explaining the answers to my questions. When he came out to install the unit, he did a very clean and professional looking job and got my house to cool again. I usually don't post reviews on contractors, but Ed Cline deserves a special mention for going above and beyond, and saving me money in the process. I'm glad I gave him a call. Thanks so much, Ed!

Ed is a very honest and knowledgeable person. I have dealt with him on three occasions and couldn't be more pleased. A few years ago, he came in the middle of winter to fix my heater on a Saturday. He had to order a part that didn't arrive until that Monday. Ed came over as soon as the part came in and had my heater fixed by the time I was home from work.
About a month ago I called Ed because my parent's heater was not working. He was in the vicinity of their house and went over within an hour of speaking to him. He was able to fix the improper wiring done by the oil company and had their heat working again in no time.
My most recent experience with Ed was yesterday. My A/C hadn't been working since last Saturday and although he was booked for the first part of the week, I waited for him because of my past experience with him. Turns out it was a relatively easy fix and he had my A/C working within 20 minutes.
I feel very lucky to have found Ed and will continue to use his service in the future. He is just an honest guy that wants to do the job correctly, and not charge the customer any more than is necessary. These are hard to find qualities in contractors a lot of times, but that is not the case with Ed.

I am a Realtor in Raleigh and I called one of the companies that we recommend and they have a very good reputation. They analyzed my system and told me the repair would be $1,600, but I should probably just replace the entire unit for $3,800, because there was no guarantee the repair would work. It was also going to take about 2 weeks before they could do the work. I decided to get a second opinion and looked online for someone. When I saw all the positive reviews for Rainbow Services, I gave them a call and I'm very glad I did. Ed came out the next day, diagnosed the problem, went out and got the necessary part and came back and FIXED IT THAT SAME DAY. Total cost was $800 and my system runs great. I can't thank you enough and assure you that I will recommend your services to every one of my clients and everybody I know.

It seems that everyone makes similar claims these days and promises their customer service, loyalty, etc. In Ed's case, he stands behind it and you can believe every word that statement makes. Ed has been to my house to fix two different issues over the span of two years. Both times he's been very quick to respond and extremely professional. I'm an engineer myself and it didn't take long before realizing that Ed is very knowledgeable regarding his craft and takes a lot of pride in his work.
