Progressive Service Company

To be clear, the gentleman that came out (Marcus) was excellent. Professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I only have a (significant) problem with the pricing, which he has no control over. I was told how much it would be for the labor to replace a hot water heater (almost $2,000...just for the labor, not the materials) and based on that I assumed it would be easily 10 hours of labor. As it turns out, it took less than 4, or so. $500~ an hour. Is that reasonable? In my opinion, no. I didn't call off-hours but even if I had, $500 an hour is completely unreasonable. I called, after the work was done, to ask about pricing and the person I spoke to said they don't give out pricing over the phone. I pushed a little so the lady said she'd check with someone. When she got back to me she said "replacing a hot water heater can cost anywhere from $1,500 to $10,000". That is an incredibly unprofessional, and more than likely sarcastic, response from a company. The work that was done was very good and, like I said, Marcus was excellent. But my gut tells me the company is ok with (significantly) overcharging customers. I supposed I should have asked how long it would take before I committed to it but the challenge is 1) it's a broken hot water heater that needs to be fixed ASAP and 2) they charge you for the visit regardless of whether you contract with them or not. So they know you're in a pinch. While I probably should have asked how long it would take, I was trusting that they weren't going to gouge me. It's unfortunate to learn that you can't trust what appears to be a reputable company. I won't use them again.

(Orange Park, Florida) I really dislike having things done like having a hot water heater installed. This was the easiest replacement I've ever experienced. Dave and Alex were right on time. They were extremely professional and very easy to work with. I highly recommend Progressive to anyone needing a water heater or anything else they do. April in the office was such a pleasure to deal with. Everything went exactly as she said it would. What a great team. I will use them again in the future. Great job!!!!!

Patrick was very professional, thorough and helpful. He did a great job and went above and beyond to make sure we understood everything he was doing and we were set up with everything we needed. There were no hidden fees or surprises with Patrick and he represented the Progressive company very well. I feel comfortable referring my friends and family to Progressive because if Patrick is the kind of person they hire it shows they truly do care about their customers.

Ethan was our amazing plumber today. He was prompt, professional and got the job done neatly and quickly. We are very happy with Progressive Service Company!

Rivers was very transparent with the type of repair and installation would be done. He was prompt on letting me know when we would arrive and did a great job and quoted me realistically. Would definitely use him or any other progressive plumber in the future.

HVAC replacement. John Woodell, the sales rep was very knowledgeable, professional, courteous and helpful. I signed a contract for the replacement to be done. I secured an appointment for the next day!!!

When I needed a quote for a water heater replacement they were quick to send a person out but after days of calling they never emailed me an estimate. I tried three times and each time they assured me someone would be sending it but it never came. Maybe I have been an anomaly but this is pretty terrible bureaucratic customer service and communication.

(Dishwasher Installation)
I typically do not write negative reviews, but this experience left an impression on me. We have been in bad need of a dishwasher for months. It finally arrived and then when Progressive Service (contracted by Home Depot in WF) came to my home for the installation, they were there less than 5 minutes before telling me the new dishwasher wouldn’t fit. I insisted that the measurements were less than that of the unit already installed, but the installer was unwilling to consider it. What bothered me so much is that not once did they measure the dishwasher. Nor did they even confirm the model, they glanced at it for 10 seconds from the side. Once he heard that it was a Whirlpool unit, his mind was made up. I believe they didn’t want to deal with the installation and rather than making sure the customer (me) understood the specifics and was satisfied with the reasoning - they just simply said ‘they know it won’t fit’ and ‘they’ve done hundreds’. After I told them I guess I had no choice but to cancel the install they left quickly and rudely did not acknowledge my wife and son on their way out that said hi. This was also very upsetting. It was very unprofessional. I was then left in an awful predicament.

I luckily found a another installer later that day that came out the following afternoon and performed the work that Progressive said was ‘impossible’ within 92 minutes with no complaints. I will never use Progressive nor order appliances through Home Depot again due to the poor customer experience.

Shane shoed up within an hour or two of my call. Repaied water line into fridge without complication. So i asked him to replace my leaky water connection to my powder rm toilet. Super fast...done. so i asked if he did well work. Yep! So i had him check out my well setup (a knowledge black hole for me). He changed my filter and gave me detailed instructions how to do it myself. It was over $700 (ouch!). But i got KNOWLEDGE!!! And leaks were fixed. So Shane made this a big win for me. I also am SO GRATEFUL Progressive could come out for an urgent repair so quickly. THANKS!!!!

Excellent service replacing my A/C units. It was fast, clean, they were very responsive, answered all my questions, did a great job, provided all possible options to replace our A/C units. We are very happy with their service. We are waiting for two more units that were on backorder.
