Saturday morning in the middle of the summer in Raleigh and no A/C. We called Carlton and they fit us into their schedule that afternoon. Cruz arrived around 2pm and quickly diagnosed the issue and had us in the cool shortly thereafter.
In our experience, Carlton Heating & Air Conditioning has been knowledgeable, professional, and most importantly with heat indexes above 100, responsive.

We’ve used Carlton for about 9 years in two different homes and have been very pleased with their work.

I had techs come to my home to fix my ac. The first tech came to my home stated it was fixed but advised my rental company it was not. Days went by with no contact. They finally scheduled to come out again last min at 4:45 pm. They worked up until 10 pm which my son has school in the am they were going to have to come back. My upstairs and steps was a mess. They left garage in my backyard from the unit they replaced that wasn’t cleaned. They asked to use my vacuum which is now messed up due to the items they were trying to vacuum. They stated they would be back to finish the installation and bring they cleaning equipment to clean up but that never happen. I received a call from management that they would send them back after their company received a call from my rental company and my case being closed. They arrive, I let them in and into my room to get dressed for work. After a short period of time I didn’t hear them, opened my door, looked outside and they were gone. Never said a work to me about anything. Never cleaned up their mess from the backyard my stairs or my loft. I had to sweep everything being as though the items left on the floor were to large to vacuum. I had to break the the wood they left in my backyard in to small pieces so it would fit in my recycle bins. I’m glad my AIR CONDITION is fixed but the mess I had to clean was unreal and that is why they are receiving this review.

Had one company come out and say we needed a whole new HVAC system. Carlton had a technician out the next day and confirmed their information was false and saved me over $2,000! WOW! At Carlton they care about YOU not just their commission!

Edit: I originally did not have a great experience because my AC stopped working again the next day, however, they followed up to make things right. The technician was knowledgeable and helped get things back up and running quickly. The only reason for not getting 5 stars is that their answering service can be slow to call back. They took a week to get back to me, which was too long. The director of operations called me and is working to resolve that issue, so it may be improving. He offered a free maintenance/tune-up for my troubles, which I appreciated.

Been dealing with this company for almost two weeks now. 1st guy showed up on time, but then left and never came back. Second guy came and put in a work order that we are still waiting on. To be fair part of the hold up is the rental agency we rent from, but I've talked to four people today alone and each of them has PROMISED to call me "right back" and nothing. I can only imagine the quality of work if they can't return a simple phone call.

Carlton Heating and Air Conditioning responded quickly to my call and sent a technician out ASAP. John arrived promptly and was ready to work on our AC unit. I was surprised to hear he was the owner and responded to service calls. He was very knowledgeable, down to earth and made it clear that he was not trying to force us into replacing our unit as many other companies do. He got our old unit up and running in no time! We signed up for the Peak Performance Maintenance Agreement. They have a customer in us for life!

We had a last minute need for an NVAC replacement and Carlton Heating and Air were quick and helpful! They answered our calls at all hours of the day and evening and got in ASAP to make a great fix. Cruz, Felix and Don - hats off to you for a job well done!

John Carlton and everyone in his company are fantastic. They are extremely responsive and prompt. I trust his opinion and know his advice is good and sound. I can't thank you enough for installing our new unit in the midst of a heat wave. The gentlemen that visited my home were kind and considerate. They worked tirelessly to install our new unit. His office staff was very responsive and made sure I was prepared for each visit. I received ample notice and plenty of time prior to arrive. I highly recommend Carlton Heating and Air. Job well done.

Very fast and responsive during Christmas. Came out within hours after calling and fixed all heating issues. Every other company said they couldn’t come out for days.
