Drew from Hornet HVA in Concord, NC came to install a new Hvac system in our home in April of this year. When he left he told us, and we thought we had a good unit we could depend on. Three days after he installed the unit, it wasn't cooling properly. He said his guys didn't fill the unit with coolant when it was installed and he topped it off. We only used the ac sporadically until the week of June 12th. Four days after we started using the unit daily, a water leak developed that damaged the sheetrock and the floor below. Thank God it was only a storage closet. I called Drew and asked him to come out and check it. He said he would be out that afternoon. After waiting until 8 pm, I called back and he wouldn't answer my call. I also sent him a text with no response. We had to call a plumber and another hvac company to fix the problems. The new hvac company said it was leaking coolant and oil. He said if Drew had done the proper diagnostic upon installation, he would have found the unit was DAMAGED. It cost us another 3000 dollars to correct the problem. I didn't see the post from a year ago that had the same experience until today. After he gets your money, don't expect to hear from him again. His failure becomes your problem, not his. Please DO NOT allow Drew to do any installation work at your home. I have no idea how he can have a 4-star rating when this has happened to so many customers.

I had a heat pump installed 2 weeks ago & I still do not have heat in my home. After several call attempts,Drew was able to resolve my issue. I appreciated his hard work to make sure my heat was working. Kudos to Drew & Hornets heating! May 2023. I turned my air on for the 1st time since installation 4months ago. All I get is hot air. Tried ing/texting Drew & no response by phone or text message! I will not recommend anyone to use this HVAC contractor. Totally unprofessional.

Drew was punctual and professional. Responded right away and delivered. I was recommended by a co worker where in her community about 80% off the homes use Drew. I will recommend him as well to anyone I know needing AC work. He replaced a 2 ton unit and was $800 before someone who told me there price couldn’t be beat. He even installed the same day where the other company said they were doing me a favor and squeezing me in 3 days later.

This is the second time we have used Hornets Heating and cooling. The first time was a couple years ago for a gas leak. We had another company first come out and gave us a quote and before the guy left, that quote changed two other times for no reason. A friend recommended Hornets so we had them come out. Not only were they lower, but they fixed the problem right away and were so nice. Today we had our AC go out and again, they were fantastic. Within a few minutes of arriving, they knew the problem and solved it and we have cool air again. They are by far the best company we have ever worked with. Thank you!

Drew and his team were recommended to me after I had been fighting with my warranty people for over two weeks without AC. Drew came out to my house within an hour after i contacted him! The first thing he said was regardless of anything I’m going to get you cool now! He came out on a Thursday and put refrigerant in my AC that lasted until he could come back out and replace the system on Saturday. The service was impeccable! On time and very efficient! I would recommend them to anyone! Great team, great attitude and all round great experience given the situation!

Drew installed new A/C unit back in May and said that he will come in a fall for a free maintenance. His technician came, completed the maintenance and charged us more than $100!. The charge was never even mentioned upfront. If we knew that it wouldn't be free, we wouldn't even have agreed to this "maintenance" of a new $9K unit. When we tried to confront Drew about this charge, he simply ignored the messages. Bad business practices. Do not recommend.

We hired this company to do an complete HVAC install on one of our rehabs. They promised to have the job done in 3 days. After countless "no shows", un-answered texts/ phone calls to them, they finally finished the job 30 days later. I was only a few weeks after the work was complete that the HVAC unit froze up. We called Drew at Hornet's Heating and Cooling on Wednesday and he made an appointment to come out that Friday. He "no showed" for our scheduled appointment. When we contacted Drew again, he said he was running late and on his way. No one ever showed up. No call, nothing.

Our heat pump went out yesterday. Drew from Hornets Heating and Air came out and diagnosed the problem and did a temporary fix. The team came out today and replaced the whole system with a Trane unit. Added in a Nest thermostat for $1500 below previous estimates. Our system was a 22 year old unit so we knew the time was about up with it. Thank you again for a great job!

After leaving a voice mail on a Sunday, Drew came out and gave me a quick fix until he and his crew could come out and permanently fix the problem. He and his crew came out and installed a new AC unit. They were professional, responsible and very kind. I not only have a company I know and trust for any future maintenance, I also have a new friend as well. I highly recommend this company and will use them again in the future.

The company took over a month to complete install and pass inspection. Workers sent out made us feel uncomfortable. Owner (Drew) refused to answer his phone on multiple occasions. The coil had a leak in it which the company refused to repair. We had to get the HVAC board involved. Turns out they are not licensed to do HVAC installs and have already been told to cease install activity. We are now out $2000 from post install repairs since July 2021.
