Bill is a very experienced HVAC guy, lots of years of experience and is particularly good at figuring what size system is really best for each home. He was able to recommend to me a system that fit and was highly efficient, but advised me not to "over purchase". Bill and his team have been very responsive. We initially had a maintenance contract with them but our HVAC system was pretty old. When it finally gave out they gave us window units while we worked out bids from competing places. We ultimately decided to go with them to replace everything and install a 3 zone system and new duct work. They were professional and quick and we highly recommend them.

If you want it done right, we highly recommend Bill Garcher at Air Velocity. This is a small 2-person company and BOTH Bill and his partner have full HVAC licenses with the NC State Board. Bill came and did thorough measurements to ensure we had the right size unit for our home. After he did his calculations he presented us with good, better, and best options at different price points. He also pointed out that another service we had installed under our house had a drain line that would interfere with the space he needed to work, which gave us the opportunity to contact the other service provider and have that moved. We decided to go with a super-quiet model with a higher SEER rating for the air conditioning and a higher HSPF rating for the heat. Bill and his partner came and did the installation in less than a day, which was awesome! They're both very polite, answered every single question we had, and cleaned up everything completely before leaving. Bill also took the time to check-in periodically after our installation, to see how it was doing and to answer any new questions we had. The air conditioning unit performs at least as well as our prior one, if not more efficiently. And the heat pump is AMAZING. Our home is finally warm and we can no longer guess how cold it is outside based on the temperature inside. It actually blows out warm air! I had not used Air Velocity before, but after my experience with them, I was glad I did. It is reassuring to see that some people still believe in doing business the old fashioned way, when a man's word was his badge of honor.

Bill is not only an expert in his field, he is an honest, hard working, caring person. I had an emergency during Christmas week. The weather was extremely cold and windy and my house had no heat. Rodents had gotten in underneath the foundation due to an opening a former workman had left, and chewed the wires of the heating system. Bill and his men came to the house and assessed the situation. It turned out that I needed a whole new system due to the fire hazard, which Bill and his men installed on Christmas Eve. Bill also gave me an option to repair the damage and did not pressure me into replacing the system, but I knew that was the best thing to do considering the damage. I knew in my heart that I could trust Bill after talking to him at length and seeing how honest and open his responses were to my questions and concerns. I also had a family emergency that week due to illness, and Bill could not have been more helpful and concerned. You do not find people of Bill’s caliber everywhere. He is knowledgeable, reliable and caring. I would recommend him to anyone without hesitation and would not consider using anyone else.

Air Velocity was quick to come out on a weekend after our HVAC unit stopped. The tech was able to get the unit working, but we had to work on it ourselves throughout the day after the tech left as the pan filled back up with water twice. The owner Bill tried to contact us knowing we were not happy with the outcome and in the end sent us a handwritten note with a full refund. While the service was not what we hoped the owners attempts to fix the issue and the quick response on a weekend is why I've left the 4 stars. We have not had any issues with the unit since that day.

Our upstairs AC went out last night, and it was soon 85 degrees up there. I called Bill and Shawn this morning and my AC was cooling again after a quick professional visit. Bill was very responsive via text and calls. Shawn was delightful. At no point did I feel pressured. Shawn found a clogged drain and did what he needed to do at a fair reasonable price. When the unit inevitably breaks again or dies for good, this is who I will call.
