We had them install ductless units on our first floor and central on the second. Their crews were neat, polite, and meticulous. Jordan was a pleasure to deal with. There was a small out of box issue with one of the registers and they returned and fixed it immediately. We couldn’t be happier with them and we highly recommend them.

After shopping around with a few local companies, we decided to go with Stanley Gelber & Sons. Instead of just looking at the house and giving me numbers and pricing I didn't understand, Brian explained everything in terms that someone with little or no HVAC knowledge can understand. He wanted to give us a solution that would be best for us - not just something with the highest price. The install took 2 days, and after ripping out a system (ducts, handler, compressor, etc.) that was likely older than I am we couldn't be more satisfied. Their crew is excellent - extremely professional and respectful. We had work done not only in the attic but in all of our upstairs bedroom as well - mess/dust was a concern for us especially with having a newborn. After each day they worked, the house looked the same and you would not know the amount of work that was done that day - the cleanup was superb. The effort and attention to detail was also excellent. After two days of work, we now have a brand new and efficient central AC system to battle the summer heat as well as a company we will highly recommend.

From the time I called to make an appointment (the young lady in the office was very nice), to the time that Jordan came to give us an estimate, to the installation....they were GREAT!

On the date of installation, the crew was right on time, courteous, and extremely pleasant. They worked their tails off, and cleaned everything up before leaving. You wouldn't know they had been here.

The installation team did a fantastic job installing our Carrier Central Air Conditioning System. The team members arrived when they said they would, worked extremely hard and were always in communication with us regarding key decisions connected to duct placement, vents, where to put the large equipment pieces inside and out, ecobee operation, etc. It was a very positive experience all around.

All I can say is these guys are awesome! Our AC went out during the hottest days of this summer. We called Gelber and they sent someone out quickly and it was determined that the condenser, which was over 16 years old, was done. Although we did not even have a contract with them (we have used them numerous times in the past) they quickly installed a loaner unit to hold us over until they can make the permanent replacement and repairs. Their technicians are very knowledgeable and every interaction with this company over the past 10 years has been a good one.

We knew last summer that our existing A/C unit had a slow leak, and it would eventually need to be replaced. When summer came around this year, we were hoping we could squeeze another season out of the unit with a little extra refrigerant. We contacted a few A/C companies; you could imagine most vendors would jump at the chance to sell us a brand new A/C unit. However, when Brian came to our house, he started by saying, “Let me tell you the truth.” The truth was, we didn’t *need* a new unit. After walking through the pros and cons with us, the cost and efficiency of refrigerant, our energy bills vs. the benefits of a new unit, we knew we had to bite the proverbial bullet.

All of this was taking place as we were entering the New York weekend of unrelenting heat. Brian came by on a Friday, and by that evening, we knew we wanted to move forward with his company. I called and said we were ready to sign, but was there any chance someone could come put some refrigerant in our current AC unit, so we were comfortable until the new unit could be installed? Brian and his son came by on Saturday afternoon, added refrigerant, tested the unit, and left us with a house temperature of less than 75 degrees.

Fast forward a few days, we were prepared to wait a few weeks for our installation (hence the refrigerant band-aid), but received a call from Gelber and Sons. They had a cancellation for the coming Friday and asked if we wanted to schedule an appointment. How’s that for customer service / awesome luck?!

The crew that came to install the unit could not have been more professional and friendly. Where we were previously running our AC as low as possible to keep the house somewhat cool, we now have our thermostat set at 74 degrees and talk about being too cold!

Brian, the owner, came in on a Saturday to assess the issues faced from a previous installer (East Coast Mechanical). Although he normally doesnt take on other people's errors, he graciously quoted fixing the system, trying to keep as many existing parts as possible to save us money. He seems to have so much knowledge of air conditioning systems from his years of experience. No one else wanted to keep our damper system for the 2 zones. We ended up replacing the duct work and registers to better support the system. I received my quote in a very timely manner and he was able to schedule the install a week from my OK. The team he sent was very professional, arriving and leaving on schedule every day. They put drop clothes down and vacuumed after themselves. They came across an issue where they could not use the existing wireless thermostat, so they added and hard wired a new thermostat at no charge. Highly recommended!

We were doing renovation on our house and wanted to put in central air. I was told to contact Stan Gelber and Sons by a friend that uses them. They came out, went over options and they figured out it was going to be too expensive to put in a new central air. They recommended ductless units. We decided to go with that for air and primary heat. Their crew came to install early on the morning we were scheduled. They werr friendly, efficient and cleaned as they went. At my wife's insurance, they made sure all the outside piping was kept as close to the molding and base of the house as possible. They did a beautiful install.
They came back when my wife was unhappy with one of the units not being level. They adjusted it the way she wanted. Turns out our house is not entirely level.

They had to come out one more time. It seemed that the fan for my chimney wasn't working. Our electrician traced the line and the power ended at one of the units. He said that the line probably got cut during install. I called Staj Gelber & Sons to let them know. They said that they didn't think they could have done it but would come out to make sure. They met my electrician, had to drain the unit of refrigerant, take the unit off of the wall and wait while the electrician checked. It turned out that the wife was indeed cut during install. It had been buried in the wall and inside spray insulation so the crew couldn't have really known. After the repair, the crew put the unit back on the wall, filled the condenser up with refrigerant, tested all the units attached to that condenser and they cleaned up everything.
I am incredibly pleased with how the units work and the service we have received from everyone at Stan Gelber & Sons.

If you want central ac in your home, look no further than Stan Gelber & sons. Brian the owner came out and gave us his recommendation on what system would be the best for our home and how to avoid any pitfalls. Brian is a straight shooter, no up-sell and fancy pitch. It doesn’t stop there because the crew that comes out to do the work is one of the most professional crews I've had the pleasure of dealing with. This is important because no matter how great you feel with your salesman they are not the ones doing the actual work. So a professional crew is the icing on the cake. They setup everything properly, cleaned up properly and most of all worked together without a hitch. Few things always pop up during these types of installs and they figured it out without a delay. After the install, we found ourselves with a discrepancy in regards to a specific filter being used and this is where the real test of the company comes: customer service and shortly after it was remedied by Brian and his crew. It's not how great a company can sell you something, but how they react in those moments where you need help. We will be recommending them to our friends and family.

Whole-house unit went out on a Sunday during a heat wave and was not an existing customer. Called up and although they were swamped with current customer repairs, they were able to squeeze me in within a few days for a service call.

Communication is key for me, and the company was upfront with what costs may entail, what the timing would be, and sent emails confirming the time that the service folks would be coming to perform the repair. Part came in very quickly and was installed the next day. Cannot recommend enough.
