Wish I could give them a zero. We called for a delivery of propane last Tuesday (told them we were about out) and were told they would try to get out in the next day but would have it for sure by Friday. We called around 5:00 Friday, and were told that they were scheduled to be here, but if not, they would deliver on Sat morning. No show on Sat, so we called again. We were told that it wouldn't be until Monday morning, but if we run out, call them and someone would make an emergency delivery of a small amount, then the rest would come on Monday.
We ran out of propane Sunday. Called them, and they said someone would call us back. No one called.
It is now Monday at 11:00, and no propane yet. I called again and someone is supposed to be coming today.
Also, asked what the current price is, and was told $5.59. Just called Main Care, theirs is $3.51.
We're getting rid of John Ray & Son.

Moved into a new Apartment in Sep. 2015 where heat was from a single set of tanks for all units and separate meters for each unit. After calling to have the meter unlocked and paying a large security deposit (the ONLY utility company that required one) it took the until Jan 2016 to get my Meter unlocked and my heat turned on.When i saw one of there service trucks (not a delivery truck) in a neighbors driveway, called the company and refused to get off the phone until my meter was unlocked, which took over two hours as the sent a different tech.

This September the building was sold to a new landlord, who switched propane companies to Polsinello Fuels. I had my heat setup with the new company the next day, two months faster than John Ray and Sons. Polsinello's price is also over $2 a gallon cheaper. It's now been almost 3 months and John Ray and Sons 4 Tanks are still sitting in my driveway as the can't be bothered to get them off the property.

The worst part is John Ray and Sons has yet to refund my security deposit after 3 Months, Despite me calling them every single week and being told they were processing the payment and sending me a check. Last I heard they had to have there parent company send the check, and that was 2 weeks ago. The worst part is the security deposit was larger the the total fuel cost for the little over a year I was a customer.

This is hands down the worst company i have ever dealt with. They were charging me triple the rate their competitors charge!! I purchased a multifamily home that is heated with propane. John ray had their tank already hooked up, so instead of shopping for different companies i left the tank be and waited for my bill. (Heat is included with my tenants rent). This was a big mistake on my part. The old homeowner had warned me of their service but i had thought how bad could it be, it's propane.. fill it up send me a bill, not a hard business. I was very wrong!! Should have known within 1st cppl weeks, they had to have the meter read when we became the new owners. So my pregnant wife had to meet them at the house (easy enough).. she drove the 35 min drive TWICE to be blown off by their drivers. Still gave them benefit of doubt, ugh wish i took action. Cost me 7000$ for a winter of propane. With multiple bills for each apartment with all different rates and delivery fees for each. Sounds normal lol not so much.. i wanted one bill in my name because it all came out of one tank. Not 4 seperate bills with 4 seperate delivery/service charges. Crooks!! Needless to say when i figured this out i asked them not to refill my tank but to let me know when it was low so i could change companies. They did not, i got a call from my 88 yr old tenant saying she was cold and had no heat. Called them they said "you canceled your service" and quoted me a 2000$ fill up for a one time fill at 500 gallons. Had to be paid upon delivery which was going to be up to 7 days. F$#k that!! Told them to remove their tank they said some Nonsense that federal regulations do not allow them to remove the tanks right away. Took them 43 days to remove their empty tank. After my disagreement i contacted supburban who had a tank out the next day filled and cost me 600$ rate was 99cents/gallon. I'd been getting charged over 3$ per gallon from john ray.. made me sick. To top it off not only did i get charged the 7000$ gor one winter of propane they had the flow rate screwed up and it caused damage to 2 of the 4 boilers at a total of 3500$ in repairs. They are absolutely awful dont use them, wouldnt recommend them to my worst enemy. You got me john ray and sons, got me for alot. Wont happen again!

I left a bad review when we received our bill because it was a lot higher than it should have been. They have since corrected the mistake above satisfaction. I can not find the bad review I left to remove it! Sorry John Ray& sons, if I find it I will delete it!

Ron Tech 32 is awesome! He delivers diesel to our company on a weekly basis and he is just so friendly and polite! He also makes extra effort to get us our fuel for our equipment if we are expecting snow.

I just bought a house with an oil boiler and I haven't had a chance to become a customer of any oil company. Well, the boiler stops working and I have no heat. A sticker on the boiler states to call John Ray for service, so I call them. A woman on the phone states a tech will call me back. He did in fact call me back. After about five minutes of listening to a condescending technician, he tells me he can't help because I'm not a customer. I was shaking my head in disgust over the tech's attitude and the fact that I couldn't get help on an emergency situation, because I wasn't a customer (yet!). Guess what? They certainly will not have me as a customer now!

I switched to John Ray and Sons this fall and have had nothing but good service. I am surprised to see so many negative reviews! They have always answered my calls quickly, been friendly, and the online billing is very convenient.

Austin has worked on this system before. I requested him knowing he would expertly get me up and running as well offered other repair options in the future. Which turn out to be totally needed. Thank you Austin
