He quickly diagnosed the issue, sourced a replacement part and completed the repair. The service was cheerful and professional, and the cost was reasonable - he provided me with a detailed invoice so I knew exactly what the charges were for and why. I will definitely call him again for any heating issue, and you should too!

Called Zay about a month ago when my unit stopped working. He came and diagnosed it quickly, explained to me that the capacitor needed to be replaced. I expected this was the issue but needed confirmation. He was able to get a capacitor and replace it that day, within the hour. I was very satisfied with this service to start.
I communicated to Zay I was not knowledgeable about the system I had so I really wanted him to walk me through what he was noticing and what I was experiencing. I think he made some attempts in doing so but maybe my expectations were not clear because fast forward about a month later, the unit goes out again. I send him a video and from the video he can determine what seems to be happening but he comes over and gives it a check anyway, which I appreciated.
However, I was not happy that he needed to return. I wish he had taken a closer look the first time he serviced the unit to catch any potential issues that might arise and really pickup that I was un-informed about owning and operating a unit as recommended and safely. I wanted a thorough check of the system.
For example, when he was here the first time, he didn’t really do a thorough check of the thermostat, inside system, and outside system, so he wasn’t aware that the unit had been running without a filter. I had learned this myself before calling him back for the second time after watching YouTube videos and noticing the filter slot was empty where normally there would be one.
When he was back for the second time, I communicated to him my worries about running the system with no filter and that I really wanted him to take a closer look inside to see if there is anything else he could catch. He communicated to me what he saw the issue was and a new part that needed to be replaced on outside condenser unit. He immediately called a supplier and found an in stock replacement he could pick up the same day. I believe he was knowledgeable and experienced, however I wasn’t satisfied with him not addressing my concern about taking a look at the whole system with kindness as a customer who is worried and learning about their system.
He questioned me on my want to have him do a thorough look and became defensive.
I asked him if he had availability the following day or during the weekend. He was confused as to why I didn’t want him to replace the part in the moment. I communicated to him that I really wanted a “thorough” check of my system before I could feel comfortable with replacing that part.
He essentially accused me of thinking I could get a cheaper price, or that I didn’t think he was knowledgeable or experienced and that wasn’t the case at all. I just wasn’t able to get the level of comfortability I needed from him to move forward. Instead of explaining his approach and ensuring me that it was the best one, he got extremely defensive. We started going back and forth, and he was visibly upset with me. He started packing his tools and encouraged me to try someone else.
I felt completely misunderstood and devalued as a customer. I was in shock that he had such a defensive response.
I don’t think I did anything wrong by communicating with Zay my reservations, my expectations, and why I wanted someone else to take a look at it before deciding if he should go get the part he said needed to be replaced. I wasn’t expecting for him to act out in the way that he did as a professional. I think as a consumer or customer, we have a right to get a second/third opinion and that’s all I wanted. Had the other opinions and conversations with family/friends confirmed the approach, I would have called him back to finish the service, but his response made me feel terrible as a customer and I was sad about it the entire day after he left.
If you have thick skin and need a quick fix, I think Zay can do that for you.
If you are a first-time home owner and you want someone who is patient and can walk you through what’s going on and make you feel comfortable with the services with kindness and understanding, I am not 100% confident that Zay can do that.
Zay was very prompt, professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable. He really knows his stuff. We have 4 different types of heating units, and he was able to service and update failing parts and get them all in great working order. I would recommend Dupree Heating and Cooling without reservation, great local business!

As a female, it is a rare experience to hire someone to do maintenance in your home and to find yourself completely comfortable asking questions and being treated like a respected adult. He showed up on time, every time, and worked on our unit until it was done, despite it taking longer than he anticipated- no astronomical up charge. I will be calling him for all future heating service needs.

Also, best pricing in this area. He is always available 24-7 even for emergency service. I like that he is available for call or texting as well as email communication.
Came and conducted a service call to inspect and maintain water heaters and furnaces. A week after coming the tenant was complaining about not having heat. Zay would not pick up the phone or call me back so I had to pay extra to have someone else come and fix the issue. Don’t know why I spent money here … very disappointed.
