    If I could give NO STARS or MINUS STARS as a rating I would as it is more than appropriate!!

    Either AMX has totally incompetent techs - or AMX was ready to REPLACE my second floor AC unit and air handler for no reason - except THE OBVIOU$!!!

    Subsequent to AMX's dire and EXPENSIVE solution, I called another heating and cooling company (Taconic Heating & Cooling Corp) that accurately and HONESTLY determined the problem with the unit. Taconic Heating & Cooling Corp fixed the AC with a part costing approximately $130.00!!! The problem was resolved and the unit has been fully functional with the replacement of that defective part. What would have cost me THOUSANDS HAD I TRUSTED AMX, cost me approximately $300.00 including the service call. Current and future potential AMX customers - BEWARE - NOT HONEST, NOT TRUSTWORTHY!!!!! PRESERVE AT SOMERS owners and others BEWARE!!!! They LIE and basically STEAL your money!!! UNETHICAL!!

    I have had a service contract with this company for the last decade. I Called them with a heat emergency on Saturday Jan 22 morning at 6am as my house lost all heat when the temperature was below 10°. On-call technician for the weekend arrived that morning and properly diagnosed the problem- needed a new gas valve. They had two of them in their local warehouse 5 miles away but because he is a new employee he was not given a key to the warehouse despite being on call! He called his manager who lives an hour and a half away and that manager refused to come down and open up the warehouse to get the part needed . He told me I must wait until Monday to get the job done! Are you kidding me! Subzero temperatures and he will not come to get the part needed for a loyal customer for over a decade!

    This is inexcusable in a company who provides on-call emergency service- which will cost me $500 for the technician to show up plus additional time spent.

    Did that manager not realize the risk of frozen pipes bursting and excessive damage to my home that could occur with no heat for several days during frigid temperatures? Of course he did, but he was selfish and lazy as well what kind of policy is it that the on-call technician does not have a key to the warehouse where critical parts are stored? Absolutely ridiculous!

    This manager needs to be removed from his position! Would he treat his family like this? Certainly not!
    I have fired this company and advise those who use this company beware….

    I hope the owners of this local company in Pleasantville read this review and take action with that manager who refused to provide service to a customer who has a service contract.

    Fortunately I was able to find another responsible HVAC company who came within a few hours with the part and fixed the problem.

    AMX Cooling & Heating was a pleasure to work with. They were very communicative, knowledgeable, professional, and provided exceptional service. They installed a three unit ductless ac system in my home. I was very impressed with the quality of their work. I strongly recommend them for any AC work.

    Whoever is responsible for answering calls is rude, sarcastic and demeaning. I questioned how long a tech was out at my house and was greeted with a nasty explanation of how AMX’s GPS system works. What the GPS didn’t track was the 20 or so minutes the tech spent talking to my wife. In addition, the bill was for two hours of work, which was rounded up a half hour as they bill in hour increments.

    Regarding work, instead of installing the appropriate replacement filter in my central air, the tech tapped together four smaller filters. It’s challenging to trust a company that can’t even do the customer right by replacing a filter.

    Because my central air is not working correctly I’ve been receiving quotes from multiple companies to replace the systems, all of which assumed I replaced the filter myself. They couldn’t believe it was actually replaced by a professional
