Halco

We had a NYSERDA-supported home energy efficiency audit performed by Todd from Halco. Todd was very professional and thorough with the audit and took time to answer our insulation and HVAC related questions. We haven't had any maintenance or upgrades done with Halco yet but, based on the audit experience, I will trust them to do the work well.

Upon applying for NYSERDA energy resources through Empower NY, I was referred to HALCO for a whole home energy audit. Every HALCO representative that I have spoken with has been extremely helpful, knowledgeable and courteous. HALCO thus far has provided exceptionally professional and prompt services! I would highly recommend them to anyone seeking alternative energy resources and or insulation installation.
6/2/2023 Update: Since the insulation installation has been completed there's been a noticeable difference in the temperature & quality of comfort of my home! Avery Fenton was exceptional to work with, professional and knowledgeable. Avery was able to answer all of my questions and quickly addressed my concerns. Overall I am very pleased with the outcome of the project and the staff at HALCO Energy.

I used Halco through NYSERDA to have insulation installed in my home based on recommendations from an energy audit. My house was built in 1950 and had little to no insulation. It’s too soon to know if it will help my energy usage, but logically any insulation is better than no insulation. I can say that I already notice a difference in that the “feel” of the temperature throughout the house is evened out compared to what it was. The installation went smoothly and they did an amazing job with cleaning up after they were done.

I contacted Cornell Cooperative about getting a free energy audit. I was contacted quickly and had the pleasure of meeting Todd from Halco. He was friendly, professional and thorough and explained the improvements he felt my home required to be more energy efficient. I’m about a month’s time, I was approved and scheduled. The three technicians who came to do the work were very good and efficient. I was required to leave the house while they did the blown in insulation so I ran errands and they called me when they were done to tell me what time it would be safe to return.
Todd came back a week later to inspect the job and make sure everything had been done. Halco also supplied a list of 36 ways to save money with heating and cooling! I could not be more satisfied! Not only was everyone great, but through the grant and Halco, I saved close to $5000 and they replaced lightbulbs, put in a carbon monoxide detector, relocated the air intake valve for my furnace, replaced the dryer vent hose, replaced the furnace air filter and blew in insulation in the attic and the ceiling of the basement. My home is that much better! I’ve told so many people about this program!
