Initially, Air Wave's annual storage, maintenance & installation services were acceptable. During the past two years, work quality plummeted without a reliable place to either register or resolve complaints. When extracting the air conditioner, they took out part of the window frame. Months were spent arguing and blaming window wear which seems irrelevant as an explanation to pull out part of the window frame. In summer 2020 the air conditioner dripped excessively - a nuisance for my neighbors. Each of five calls prompted an argument denying the dripping was excessive despite never checking it out. Once, I was directed to spend 1+ hour with the manufacturer only to be directed back to Air Wave which did not answer my call. Air Wave's last visit - 5 weeks after installation - the service man arrived with the wrong size part which he announced upon arrival before any inspection. Thereafter, my apartment was under construction allowing no time to correct a drip that morphed into constant water pouring out. (The picture below is from a 5 second video prior to Air Wave's last visit which shows more than 1 drip per second.)

Air Wave serviced my two Friedrich a/cs for the summer season and they've done a great job. The master bedroom a/c was removed for a thorough cleaning and returned two days later. Both my a/cs are running great now! Nice people and courteous service.

I just paid $97 for a guy to come into my flat, pull the cover off my A/C, take out the filter, wash it in my sink and make a mess in the process, put it back in and tell me the Spring check-out service was done. 3 minutes tops. This was marketed to me as a comprehensive 10-point check. I should have refused to pay but I was so stunned I became speechless. This city is full of crooks.

Had a window air conditioner purchased and installed by this company when they were on Jerome Avenue, Bronx. I called them again today to reinstall/swap the newer version of the same air conditioner. The person(male) did not sound happy that I had been given a new AC and quoted me a higher than usual price just for installation. When I asked why he quoted a high price, he stated I shouldn't complain because I was given the new A/C by my uncle. I reluctantly agreed to his price and was told Monday/Tuesday will be the earliest. I asked him to make it sooner and he placed me on hold as to check the schedule. He returned 15 minutes later and asked me if I had made a decision and when I informed him that I was on hold because he went to check the schedule he hung up the phone. Very rude. I do NOT recommend! They will rip you off.

0 star or 1 star or whatever, they are the worst company with the worst customer service on earth. I have lived in a handful of other counties so when I said they are the worst, they are.
Hired them to service and clean 2 window AC units. 2 guys came and said they could bring the units back to the company for cleaning for $300 each or they can just clean them right there and then off the record but we gotta pay them on the side. So we paid the company for their check-up fee and then a little extra for the guys to do simple dusting. They said the AC units worked fine and did not require extra maintenance.
One week later, one of the units broke down. I called the office and first the guy on the phone said they had no record of them servicing the units. When he finally found the invoice and record, he said the unit was probably on the way out before they serviced it. He even blamed it on humidity. Anyway, his tone is super condescending and nasty.
Hire them if you want to pay for sub-standard service and unfair treatment.

Thank you for parking so well so people with wheelchairs/strollers can’t walk up the sidewalk

If there were a 0 star rating, this place would get it. Overpriced, horrible service, and most importantly very unintelligent. But then, maybe Im the unintelligent one since I've been sadly using them for 10 years and every year I say I am going to find another. Today was that day I decided no more of this place. The patronizing guy who answers the phone (harsh old smokers voice sounding guy) is such a condescending and mean spirited individual, I'm done with them. Overpriced AC units, installed with little care, and when you call for a service question - GOOD LUCK! I called for a simple request, "My AC (which I bought from them 5 years ago) is no longer producing cold air" and he started telling me how air conditioning is dependent on outside air temperature. blah blah blah. I know how AC works. Measured the output temperature of that AC unit with a laser temperature probe and it measure 74 degrees. The other two units measured 54 and 56 degrees all set to same temp and ambient outside temperature was 82. I'm pretty sure I don't need to be schooled on how hot air and cold air work. This guys defaults to stupid 100% of the time.

The worst possible customer service experience I have ever had. I have had a very expensice broken Friedrich AC unit in my window for a year and a half. It was so difficult to get someone out to fix it that I gave up last summer. I am now trying to get it fixed again. They have come out 5 times. Ordered a new circuit board (wrong one) ordered another circuit board (right one but it didn't fix it). Taken it back to the shop once. When they brought it back I asked what they did and they said changed the circuit board which they already did and it didn't work (they wanted to charge me $215). Still Broken. Someone is coming out monday to try again. I just wrote a letter to them asking them very nicely to help me to get my AC fixed. Wish me luck!

We've been AIR WAVE customers for years and it's a pleasure to do business with them. Our air conditioner died on Saturday. We called AIR WAVE and left a message. They called us back at 8 am on Sunday and said they would come and install a new machine at 8 am on Monday.
We had a new air conditioner installed by 8:30 am Monday. The installers were courteous, extremely careful and very strong. They carried the huge new machine up 4 flights and the old one down. That's what we call customer service.

This business misled me when I called to make an appt for a "check out" for my 2 air conditioners. When I spoke with the person scheduling the appt, I asked if all the items on the postcard that I received would be done during the a/c "check out." I read the items on the postcard to the customer service rep, Harold, and he confirmed for me that all would be done during this visit. It turned out that the workers did not have the equipment to check to thermostat because the postcard indicated that "thermostat calibrated if needed." That could not be done, because the two workers informed me that they did not have such equipment with them. In addition, other items on the postcard would have been ignored if it were not for my reminding the workers to do those items, such as "new foam rubber installed and resealed." Nor were the condensor coils and evaporator coils checked in the living room. When I informed the workers that I would pay less since not all was done, one of the workers called the owner and the owner told them to leave. Workers stayed, did some work on the other a/c unit and then I paid a lower amount and indicated on invoice that bill was paid in full. I am very frustrated with this situation and do not intend to call them again. The workers tried to comply with my instructions but were not happy that I wanted them to follow the list that was on the postcard that I had received. I was misled and that is poor business practice.
