We had a water pipe break today. Not only was ServiceOne able to get a plumber out here same day, Mike was professional and courteous and knew exactly what needed to be done. He also got us connected with a damage repair company who also was able to get out here today. The plumbing repair was a bit challenging since the break was inside a wall cavity, but Mike took good care of us and got our water back on.

Alan was professional, friendly, patient with the incessant whining and barking of our dog. He also provided quick and thorough service of our A/C unit, and provided sound advice on what caused our issue, and how to prevent it in the future. We will call ServiceOne for future HVAC maintenance and repair, and consider their other services as well.

Annual maintenance of ac unit. Alan the service tech was knowledgeable, friendly and pointed out some things I could do to maintain the ac unit. Also spotted a part on our furnace humidifier that needed replacement. I would recommend Service One and get their gold plan. It is well worth it. Alan deserves 5 out of 5 stars. Lakeshore resident.

Austin contacted us to see if we would agree to move the scheduled appointment ahead one day. Austin texted when enroute, arrived and diagnosed the problem within minutes, and determined that the replacement circuit board was not available on his truck. One remained in stock at the home office, and Austin said he could go retrieve it and be back within 30 minutes. He was. 40 minutes later the replacement circuit board was installed and the dryer was tested and operating.

Austin is a top-notch professional technician, and we are thankful for his timely and polite service.

I was very disappointed with the quality of service I received today from Service One. The repair man accurately diagnosed the issue (bird’s nest in the heater flue,) but he knew of only two ways to fix it—try to flush it out or cut a hole in the (finished) ceiling. The charge was “$85/hour/person,” so I offered to be the second person rather than calling someone else. He attempted to flush it out, and when that was successful was ready to start cutting into my ceiling. I asked if there were other alternatives and was told no. I asked if we could attempt a plumbing snake—and he didn’t know what that was or how to operate one (actually got it stuck in the flue.) Again he started in with wanting to/pressuring me to allow him to cut into the ceiling, and I told him I was no longer in need of his services. Despite him working on the issue for only 30 minutes I was charged for an entire hour and told, “that’s just how we do things.”

I contacted another company, they came out and “fished” a line through the clog and had the heater back up and running in 20 minutes! And my ceiling is still intact.
I don’t want to cause trouble for the repairman, but I don’t feel that I received the best service available today—at least not from Service One.
