Called to make an appointment and was notified that I would be placed on the schedule for after 3pm. Received a call from River City that they had a technician that had come available and could get to the house sooner. Notified the person that it would take me awhile, at least 30 minutes or more to get to the location due to being at work and being across town. They did call me to see where I was at and told them I was almost there like 7 to 10 minutes. Arrived at the house before 10 minutes and tech was not there. Then was placed after 3 pm the next day because their spots had filled. When questioning what about the 3 pm spot was notified that spot had filled. I have used River City to install a heating and a/c unit in my old house, maintain the systems at that house and the new house as well as numerous times for my employer and had always been satisfied with their service until now. It is fine, there are plenty of other A/C companies out there and many with better customer service. Maybe it is a lesson learned to keep your original appointment and not try to be accommodating to a business, but working people can’t just drop everything because a business has a cancellation. Called to notify them to cancel the appointment for tomorrow and was notified they received the google review and had already cancelled it, no need to notify the customer.

In review of the ring cameras, the companies response is completely false. The technician was at the house for less than 15 minutes. Also, the original call was at 11:13 am, the technician arrived at 11:42, left at 11:55 am, and I was home by 12:06 pm. Another company came out within the hour and diagnosed what was wrong. They also indicated that it should have been identified on the bi-yearly service done by River City. If the response is from the owner you may want to tell your scheduler to get her ears checked, realize people have cameras these days and maybe proofread your responses before posting.

River City Heating and cooling was easy to work with, quickly found what was causing my AC to not work, and fixed it very quickly with parts on hand and professional quality work. It was nice they had an office person available for scheduling on Saturday mornings and we were able to get it fixed by Monday. They were also extremely reasonably priced and we appreciated their service. Our technician was Tyler and he did outstanding work!

The prices offered were the best in town. And after installation, follow-up visits and calls were made to our home to confirm quality delivery. The visits were unexpected and welcomed. Great service! I would recommend River City Heating & Cooling to anyone looking for a fair, reasonable, reputable and honest company.

We bought a heat pump years ago and were in need of a new air conditioner to replace the heat pump that was getting old and not working well. Jeff M. at River City was great to work with and helped us make the best decision for what we needed for our home. He was able to fit us into the schedule quickly and the installers were here on time and did a great job. They kept me updated of their progress and answered any questions I had. Even with some of the tweaking they had to do to our furnace, they were finished sooner than I thought.

Terrible customer service. Had 2 techs come out and look at my AC unit. They gave 2 different reasons for what the problem was. After the second one suggested I get a new unit due to the age of my AC unit, I agreed, but communication with Brad, the manager who would come out and provide a quote was terrible. It’s been about a month now, I still have not heard back from him, and decided to just take my business elsewhere.

I've been a customer of River City since 2008, including everything from basic maintenance to projects involving some major expenses (heat pump, major ductwork, etc.). I’ve stayed with them all these years and I’ve referred people to them because I've been very happy with their services – until now.

They installed a new thermostat/humidistat this past October. With the subsequent onset of cold weather, the air became very uncomfortably dry. I spent a couple of weeks trying various humidistat settings, but the humidity in the house was always 21%-28% no matter how high or low I set it. I called River City about this and was told that I had to schedule a service call as they wouldn’t address this over the phone. The technician changed the humidifier filter (which he said wouldn’t help) and he politely told me that the furnace needs to run all the time for the humidity to change. That was that. I tried to explain that this had never been an issue in the 24 years that I’ve been in this house, but he kept repeating the same message. So in the end I was charged (and paid) $111.50 for a $20 filter and to be told that the only way to raise the humidity is to crank up the temperature so the furnace will run all the time – which sounds like bad advice that could have been delivered for free over the phone. I’m sad to say that it might be time to look around for a new HVAC company.

This service call deserves 1 star, but I’m giving them 2 in honor of their former great service.

Even at the end of the business day, River City responded within minutes when our unit was not functioning correctly. Jeff identified the issue quickly and made an adjustment to get the air cooling right away. Excellent service and the professionalism we have always experienced from this company!
