When we bought our house last year, we knew that we were going to need a new HVAC unit this summer. We did not anticipate that the dated unit to not even turn on once it got hot out. We made arrangements for two different HVAC companies to come out and give us estimates.

The first company came out and it was purely a sales pitch filled with glossy brochures. McCarthy's representative, Tim, came out and filled in a lot of missing information that we did not get from the other company. For example, he asked me if he could measure all of the windows and doors. I must have made a confused face because he asked me if the other company measured. I told him that they did not, instead the representative just asked for the approximate square footage of the house. He review the quote that we received from the other company and determined that they were trying to sell us a 3.5 ton unit when, after accurate measuring, Tim advised us that we needed a 2.5 ton unit. He also broke down the difference between single and double stage compressor, as well as the pros and cons to both compressors.

We had a complete HVAC unit put in last Friday by McCarthy's One Hour and are completely satisfied. Dylan and Nick did an amazing job! From putting on and removing the red shoe covers every time they entered and exited the home, to poor Nick being stuck in the attic so they could run new returns in two of the bedrooms. They were at our house until well after 5:30 p.m. on a Friday and neither of the installers were even fazed that they were working after 5:00 p.m. on a Friday. At the conclusion of the install, Dylan took the time to go over the new system, including how the unit will function and a detailed tutorial of operating the thermostat (which, by the way, is super awesome).

I cannot recommend McCarthy's enough.

100 degree weather and AC went out. Another company had us scheduled for 2 days and never made it out. Called McCarthy’s at 5pm and they were here by 7pm. Chris was very thorough and found our issue quickly. Can’t thank him enough! Highly recommend!

Dylan, Neal, and Gordan were in my words ‘the A team’; They were professional, knowledgeable, caring of my home, and respectful in performing their service/installation.

I also know to have people like this it takes a great company, so my hats off to McCarthy’s.

The duct cleaning and aero seal 9-13-19:

Taylor, Adam, and Brandon did a good job today. Unfortunately, the aero seal machine had a breakdown, so the aero seal could not be performed. They will have to order the part, test the machine, and then schedule another appointment to perform the aero seal.

We are very pleased with the duct cleaning that the team completed, they were very thorough. We can really tell the difference in our home as far as dust is concerned.

Aero seal installation 9-19-19:

Adam and Chase were great, they explained the process and shared the results. I am really looking forward to seeing the impact of having our house ducts aero sealed.

McCarthy's is not who you are looking for. My 3 day install took well over a month. It was a parade of mistakes, laziness, and unprofessionalism. But the real problem is that they hit our sprinkler line while installing the AC. Due to being out of town and it being very rainy during the time, we didn't notice that it was running across our property to a side that isn't visible from our windows - not that it would have mattered. It flooded our guest room, which we don't use regularly. The manager claims that we were negligent for not watching our property everyday in the rain while we were gone. If we would have caught it sooner, the problem wouldn't have been that bad. Half a room flooded, and a utility room, it wasn't really that bad. So, because he's acting dishonest, we filed a claim with insurance. However, Scott and his company will not respond to my insurance so the two insurance companies can sort this out. This has to be the most dishonest and lowest moral character move I could imagine. Does McCarthy's carry insurance? Does it matter if they won't respond? Picture the work you want them to do going south terribly, multiple times, over and over. Do you want the hassle? Do you want to deal with the dishonesty. If he would be a stand up guy, we'd be done. It's just insurance money...or maybe it's not if you aren't insured.

Hank was extremely personable. Went right to work found the problem and had the AC working in 5 min. Then wanted to look at the unit went to the back yard and showed me how plugged up it was.Told me about the service agreement, sounded like a smart way to go so I went.
In conclusion You are lucky to have a young man such as Hank representing your company.
