Part ordered in January 2023. It is now mid-March 2023 and Nortek still cannot give a date when the part will ship. Unit stopped working in late December 2022. Issues from first year with the Nortek/Nordyne unit - which is STILL UNDER WARRANTY. Finally had someone find the issue, the coil is leaking (which seems to be everyone's problem after reading the BBB, Consumer Affairs and Facebook comments). Tech asked about replacing the unit since Nortek cannot provide the part - Nortek refused, but said I could just buy another unit and they would take approx $600 off (wholesale price of the defective coil). Why would I want to spend thousands of dollars for a new Nortek unit and pay for labor/freon, after seeing how they treat people who put trust in them (not to mention their products do not seem to hold up). I'm literally still paying on the system I have now - and it's winter and I'm FREEZING. Will never buy any product made by this company (no matter what brand they are hiding behind), and I've made sure to tell everyone I know about this entire saga they have forced me to endure. The tech said they have never seen this type of problem from any other HVAC company as most companies want to help their customers. Do better Nortek.

Reznor. Brand new 250,000 UDAP. First problem is the pressure out test tap is cross threaded in the gas valve. It is probably a Honeywell issue but you put it in your equipment, and you have the quality control. I only had to use my eyes to realize that something wasn't right, the same as any factory worker could have. Second, that nice piece of black iron pipe you guys "factory installed" was leaking at the gas valve. It was tight, just not much in the way of pipe thread sealant on it. It doesn't take much in the way of brains to put threaded pipe A into slot B and make it so it won't leak. When people bid jobs they intend to make money on it, not to have to go back with warranty repairs directly after installation. This is not acceptable and unless you get quality under control I will sell a different brand. Customers love it when you take out their old broken down furnace and put them in a brand new broken down furnace because they do the same thing, they don't provide heat. Had another UDAP 300 that the combustion blower went bad in 4 weeks.

Never buy a Nortek HVAC unit. We had one in use for 3 months and the entire coil corroded and all the Freon leaked out. They covered the coil but made our contractor drive 3 hrs to get it, they wouldn't mail it, and did not cover any labor (somewhat normal) or Freon cost ($600 worth). We purchase and renovate homes and will never buy this product again. To not even be able to throw us a portion of the Freon cost, which we lost 100% due to their faulty part, is absolutely absurd. Good companies take care of their loyal customers if they want to keep them.

Don’t by an inverter system built by Nordyne/Nortek. - I have a 10 year warranty which is questionable as I’ve been waiting almost a quarter of a year for a board.

My jaw dropped by the complete rudeness of the Customer (no)Service rep. Makes me question why I bought this Inverter System two years ago. Yelled, yes, yelled at me to call the distributor. I just needed a number, didn't needed to be belittled by this person.
Stay Away!

I have a new ( approx. 4 month ) old mini split. When it works it does pretty well heating. Except when it freezes up. I have contacted them several times, no reply. They do not talk to homeowners, only contractor and then not very satisfying answers to questions.
The worst customer service I have ever experienced in over 40 years of home ownership. Should have read reviews first. At this point all I can do is go out of my way and make sure I mention to all my friends, relatives and associates to avoid this company at all costs.

If I could give them less than one star, I certainly would!
I had a company install a new HVAC unit in my mom's house after my father passed away so she would not have to worry about anything. That was less than a year ago and the unit had a sensor fail SEVEN MONTHS LATER, which caused the unit to freeze up and destroy the condenser. The HVAC company called me today and apologized because NORTEK Global will not cover the freight to send a new condenser to them. So now we must pay the inflated $90.00 freight bill plus refrigerant costs to have our less than ONE YEAR OLD overpriced paperweight repaired. The HVAC company told me that they will never sell another unit from this company and I will sure as hell never buy another! Hopefully we don't have many issues in the future with this unit, but after the lack of customer support that I experienced today, that is doubtful...

Word of advice for anyone contemplating a new HVAC unit, go with Carrier, at least your money will stay in the United States and they value their customers.

This a a parent company for Philco. I purchased an air handler for my home a little under a year ago for $1500. Since day one, the air filter is soaking wet within an hour of install. I have had my installer call the company, they are of NO help. I have a defective air handler. Nordyne suggested a metal air handler (that i will have to rinse with a hose monthly). I live in a condo, this is not reasonable, nor was this presented at the time of purchase. Customer service basically said it is what it is. I have left messages for 3 supervisors, no return call. I want a refund or replacement, I have a 5 year full warrant. This company is TERRIBLE. Do not give them your business, they do not support their product.

Absolutely horrible AC unit. On my second one as the first one was so noisy (they finally replaced it after arguing for a month). It has been installed and the Freon is leaking from the coil on the unit. Cheaply designed and I will take every action I can as I paid a fortune in labor, the part was under warranty, but spent almost $1,000.00 after having it just about 6 months. It doesn't even rate one star, only way to post.

Customer service / warranty department is horrible. They declined honoring the 10 year warranty on a 6 year old Nordyne furnace and I was yelled at by the service rep. For a few hundred dollars to replace a motor problem they opted for poor customer service.
