McQuillan Bros called me first thing in the morning saying they’d seen my Angie’s List posting for a bid on a new furnace because that was my conclusion after a competitors repair bid. It didn’t make sense to me to put 3.6k into a 13 year old furnace. When the McQuillan scheduler called I said what I’d really like is a second opinion on the critical repairs needed. They said they’d be happy to do that and could be out that same morning. Two technicians showed up and I did not share the repairs suggested by their competitor, and they agreed that was the best approach. After an hour or so they said sorry to be so long but we can’t see why you would need a new furnace. I was delighted with this news and had them perform the critical repairs they suggested that same day, for less than 1.5k. I have to say I was extremely happy with the quick, knowledgeable, and honest service I received from McQuillan Bros!

Although there were office scheduling issues, when Oliver started work, all went smoothly. He replaced a vanity and sink, reseated a toilet and replaced several old/broken shut-off valves. He and Tou then walked me through all the work and explained what was done. I appreciate that! Plus, they cleaned up the area nicely. I was delighted with the final result.

Brady, the electrician, wired a new power outlet for our induction/convection range and installed a new electrical panel. He also helped arrange for financing smoothly. The work was careful and communication about why and how was clear. Thank you!

A winter storm sent tree branches onto our power supply lines, ripping the mast off the house and damaging the meter box. McQuillan was responsive and able to send a crew the next day. Grant provided the estimate and explained the work needed. He was later joined by Jason and Logan as work progressed. It was a more complex and expensive job than I anticipated, but Grant explained in detail how code requirements affected the job and upgrades that were needed. Their work was professional, they took time to answer all questions, and reviewed everything with us on-site before leaving.

We were very pleased with Nick. He was very personable and explained everything that he had done. Our old water heater had just about 2% life left so we are glad we called and had it replaced right away. Can't wait to take s shower this PM. Have a small project in the future to have a couple new hand held shower heads installed. Thank you!

Got a quote from them that was insanely high. I sent them an email back asking for an explanation of pricing. I was respectful about it. Never received an email back.
Anyways their price was 3x the national high for the thing I was proposing and that was the lowest option.
Wouldn’t have left a rating at all if they had bothered to email me back. But they did send me a “rate me!” Email so here we are.

After Centerpoint was a no show after an eight hour window and they took it upon themselves to change my appointment to 5 days later. McQuillan Brothers came out same day. Mike, the technician was great also!

Called to get an estimate for a 40 gallon gas water heater replaced and it was going to cost almost $3,000!!!! When I asked him why they wanted over $2200 for labor, you get the sales pitch of paying for trucks, office, etc.
Not only that, but the only way to get ahold of the actual technician was to go though the switchboard and wait for them to call you back. If you missed them had to do it all over again. Very frustrating!!! I decided to go with an independent plumber I have used before got it installed the next day in an hour and got a 50 gallon instead installed for $1500.

I called on a Sunday because we lost power due to the storm and once it was restored the sump pump that it was installed by McQuillan continued to beep so I took a chance and they answered on a Sunday!!! Well they said they will have a tech on Monday :) from 2 to 4 PM but next morning they called me to let me know they have one and can be here at 8 AM I said YES. Mike Holmes came and he told me it was just resetting the back up sump pump and checked a couple of other things letting me know I was fine and no charge OMG that was awesome! Thank you Mike.
