Boehm is a horrible company, do not call them. Two years ago, I paid almost $4,000 dollars for them to install a new AC system. Today, it is not working. I had another company look at it who said their install was terrible and the joints are not saudered right so it is leaking refrigerant. When I called Boehm and spoke to Jeff Boehm about it he was rude, snotty, condescending and unprofessional. I will never use this company again and recommend other people avoid it. Company claims they did not have the opportunity to remedy the issue however being told I could PAY them to come and fix their shoddy work is neither good customer service nor resolving the issue. No Boehm, I am not stupid enough to pay for you to come out and do more crappy work.
Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever received! They came out one day and said they couldn't work on the house for another week because it was too hot. Some of the work was in the attic, but there was plenty of work to do in the basement they could've done or perhaps came out in the morning to do the work. They quickly take your money and come back whenever convenient. We were very unhappy with their work ethic. We called them and told them to not bother coming back if this is how they're going to work. After finally agreeing to part ways, one of the owners, John told us the work performed was $1,200. We had paid $1,635. He told me in our phone conversation they would give back the difference after the check cleared in 13 days. I later got a call from the receptionist and she told me they had to come back out to repair a dryer vent that had failed because of the heat and we would not be charged because it was their error. We had another company come out to bid the rest of the job while waiting for their inspection to pass, when they saw their work, they immediately said they used single venting in basement, instead of B vent and their work will never pass. They were right, it didn't pass! They also said they did a pressure test without pulling a mechanical permit, which is required. On a separate note, the work they did do was done before their permit was even accepted by the city. They had tried to pull it but it was rejected. We know this because the day after they had preformed their work we checked their permit status and it was still not approved but they had done their work! Boehm went back out to fix their work that had not passed on the inspection and they CHARGED US over $400 for 3 hours to repair the work THEY did wrong! The owners never called back, they hide behind their receptionists. We will be seeing them in court! Just liars and thieves that don't want to work for their money in our opinion! We have been rehabbing homes for over 10 years and have never had such poor customer care! If you can go anywhere else we recommend that you do! They rely on the fact that contractors are so busy they will always have business. It's obvious they don't care about repeat business! I can't stress enough to avoid this company at all cost. Also making a report with the BBB!
Our boiler was going out towards the end of the winter of 2011. We limped it along but got a couple of estimates that both suggested we should replace the boiler. In the fall of 2012, we decided we'd get a couple more people to take a look at the boiler. Jim from Boehm came in and took a look at things and listened to my description with the issue and said that they could definitely replace it, but that it could be another problem and they could also try replacing that part. Took the route of a repair and our boiler has been working like new once again. Trustworthy, honest, reasonable rates and very easy to work with. I'll be calling Boehm in the future. They are great!
We love the new mini-split air conditioning that Boehm installed. They are very friendly and professional. They gave a low bid and installed the units in a visually appealing manner. Highly recommended!
First of all, these are good people. There was no heat in my house and as soon as the operator found out I didn't have heat she made sure that someone called me within an hour, which was actually only fifteen minutes. Jeff Boehm came to my house and thoroughly evaluated my very old boiler and any possible issues. He explained everything to me and took care of every radiator. He knew how old my boiler was despite it not having any label on it, as my house was built in 1909. He explained to me exactly what I needed to do going forward and is mailing me a proposal. Bottom line: my expectations were met and far exceeded. Thank you, Jeff!
So far I'm pretty disappointed in my experience trying to get an air conditioner replaced. I had previously had great service, but now I'm on over a month of trying to get a new air conditioner in a house that is regularly over 80 degrees. I called, I emailed, I continually follow up. The office person is short with me and always leaves me feeling like my business is an afterthought, when to me it is a substantial amount of money.
The worst part of all of it, is I signed a contract and they don't even have the decency to let me pursue a company the DOES value my business and my money (my contract was signed under the pretext of a different timing, which has been revised twice). Disappointed is a bit of an understatement at this point. I had good experiences in the past, but likely won't be recommending in the future.
Jeff Boehm went above and beyond in making my project a priority at an affordable price point! What's more, he and his crew were extremely friendly, genuinely caring and did a phenomenal job installing my new gas boiler!! What's not to love?
The details: After having some work done on a leaky gas line, my 70-year-old boiler was red tagged by Centerpoint Energy for a high carbon monoxide reading (340 ppm). The timing of these events is never good, but this was especially so with the early Nov. temps dropping down to the 20s and me being scheduled for surgery in the next two weeks?! Yikes!
I phoned three companies to schedule estimates. All three were saying they were three-four weeks out in scheduling installation of new boilers?! Jeff came to do the bid himself, asked a lot of questions, actually listened to my answers, took many measurements and presented me with a thorough and reasonable bid. More importantly, he said that he understood my predicament with the upcoming surgery and said that he would work with me to get it done within a week. Jeff's sincerity and warmth, coupled with a reasonable bid and expedited service made my decision of whom to hire an easy one. :-)
For the next week, I borrowed space heaters from friends and family. Brrrr, my 110-year-old house was chilly! The night before the install, Jeff came over and drained the system so it would be ready for the crew in the morning. Promptly at 8:30 am, the four-man crew was present and immediately got down to work. They removed my old Janitrol boiler and replaced it with one about 1/3 the size. We decided on an 84% efficient Weil-McClein CGa-4 boiler. (They're known for being reliable and easy to maintain.) Jeff and his crew worked through the entire day installing the boiler with additional safety features like balancing valves to help manage my heating plant more efficiently and easily.
Around 5pm they invited me down to see my new heating plant. While Jeff put the finishing touches on a few welds, his crew made sure all the mess was cleaned up. Jeff then led a mini workshop, preparing me for things to be different (explaining how the circulating pump would change how my system operated), there would be new noises (not be alarmed by them, they are normal operation sounds), patiently he explained all the valves, how to maintain the system and when I said I was a bit overwhelmed with information, he repeated all the information again so I could make a video. What a nice guy!
It’s been about three weeks now and the boiler and new thermostat are working great! The system cycles more frequently, but for shorter periods of time; the heat is almost instantaneous, even up on the second floor. In fact, radiators that were only moderately warm for the last 23 years are now hot to the touch. I’ve gotten used to the new sounds, the new thermostat and the reliable heat. Thanks Jeff, for the great service! I appreciate the care you showed me and will continue to recommend you to all of my friends!
Jeff and his dad fixed our boiler and saved us over 1000 dollars versus Bonfe. They also didn't use high pressure sale tactics. Glad to have found them and look forward to using them in the future. Highly recommend their services.
Jeff and company were excellent to work with. The crew was efficient, tidy, and easy to communicate with. The city inspector stated the work was excellent. Also Boehm came in under the other bids solicited. Could not be happier with the work.
Our AC went out on Sunday 07/14/19 on one of the hottest days of the year. My elderly mother in law lives with us due to health reasons and it was affecting her terribly. We contacted Boehm Heating and Air on 07/15/2019, I told them of the situation and they made the necessary arrangements to get us in and up and running same day!! I would recommend this family owned business to ANYONE!!! 5 STARS!!!!!!!
