    Fall 2022: Josh came to our home in the Spring and now again this Fall to perform a "clean and check" on our A/C and furnace. We are so grateful to have found RO Heating, Cooling and Electrical to keep us safe and comfortable!!! Excellent company, unsurpassed service.
    Spring 2023: once again can’t say enough about the quality service this company provides! We see them every year, twice a year for routine furnace and a/c maintenance checks, which is why we don’t have to call them with an emergency! (But they would be the first we’d call if we needed them…)

    Have been using this company for years. They installed my new boiler and I use them for annual boiler check ups. Got back from a winter vacation one year to a cold house. (Old boiler.) They came within an hour, fixed the problem and price was very reasonable--despite it being a Sunday evening and an emergency call. Employees have all been very professional. The senior discount is nice, too. Recommend.

    I had Royal Oak Heating and Cooling perform a furnace inspection. The technician noticed a small condensation leak under the collector box and immediately gave me a doom and gloom story. He told me that it would cost $800 to replace collector box, but once they took that off they would likely find other things that would need to be fixed. He strongly recommended that I just replace the entire furnace, saying the inside looks terrible and the heat exchanger was probably cracked. When I asked him to point out exactly what looked terrible, he pointed out one spot of rust (which was not even rust) and then just waved his hand around at the rest of it saying it was a mess. One minute in and I lost any trust in him.

    His CO meter showed 0-1ppm throughout the 10-12 minutes that I was keeping an eye on it. A few minutes after that he turned it off and told me it was reading 3ppm. I asked him to clarify that because it had been reading 0-1ppm just minutes before. He then said it was between 2-3ppm. I declined his offer to set up an appointment with one of his sales guys to sell me a new furnace. Lying about the CO reading didn't help the trust issue any. There is no mechanism for CO to exponentially rise from 0-1ppm after 10-12 minutes to 3ppm after another 2-3 minutes!

    After that appointment I ordered a replacement collector box and gasket for $40 and replaced it within an hour. No more leak. I had another company come out to perform another inspection. That technician pointed out that the furnace is 20 years old which is about how long they are good for, but he also said it was in good shape. He didn't find one thing wrong with it (including a CO reading of 0ppm), which was a sharp departure from the Royal Oak Heating and Cooling guy. I also asked him how much he would charge to replace the collector box and he said it would cost around $250, which is reasonable considering the drive time, hour of work and parts (with usual markup).

    So, needless to say I will not use Royal Oak Heating and Cooling again. Too bad, because the last time I used them the technician (different guy) was perfectly honest with me.

    Note to the owners: the name on this review is not my real name and you won't find a record of performing work for someone with that name. So don't bother replying and claiming that my review is bogus. If you want to speak about this you can reply and I will then call so that you can verify that I was a real customer. I don't care about getting a refund -- the $94 that I was charged means less to me than alerting others to my experience

    They were great to work with for the minor AC system repair.I was able to schedule an appointment much more quickly than any of their competitors and they arrived on time. The crew quickly evaluated the issue and made the repair. They talked through the ins and outs of the system as well as other things to keep an eye on throughout the summer and into fall. I would highly recommend them and I'll be sure to schedule future work with them.

    If I could give negative stars I would. It’s sad businesses need to gouge customers into paying more than they need to. I requested a diagnosis on an issue with my boiler and an estimate as well. Instead, I got the run around that my boiler needs to be replaced due to “unsafe conditions”. Keep in mind I had a home inspection done prior to purchasing my home with no issues prior. What I thought would be a quote on my circulator pump failing, turns into an ordeal that the boiler has to be replaced “due to high carbon monoxide readings and my boiler being ancient. Per the technician Riley.” Rather than tell me what the “real issue” was, he attempted to scare me into purchasing a new boiler. Typical since I am a female, he thought he could swindle me but I knew better. Definitely got a second opinion. Did I mention, he couldn’t even get me an estimate due to the “technician is unable to give estimates” . Not sure what kind of business this is but the request for an additional appointment for a estimate has me baffled. Definitely got a second opinion and saved my money as well as time. Please avoid them at all costs.

    Gage and his partner did a great job repairing an electrical issue for me. They were patient, made sure their fix actually corrected the problem, and took the time to show me exactly what the issue was and how they fixed it. They were fantastic. This is the second time I’ve successfully used them. I will use them again when I need an electrical fix.
