The young man that came to my house was very nice and polite, knew exactly what he was doing. He was in and out in 10 mins. Only problem I have is , it was a 10 minute visit and it cost me $176.60 way to much!
They installed a sump pump last week; man is it loud and full of different noises. I would like Jenks to take a second look to assess the loudness of the pump.
Had them come to install new gas lines to my dryer and stove - which had previously been electric. Two technicians came out and stated that they needed to talk to their boss before being able to add the lines because 1) they didn't recognize the type of pipe used for the gas in my house (which is flexible gas piping used in all new home builds - my house was built in 2013 and is in a large subdivision), and 2) they didn't think the size pipe leading in to my house was big enough to supply my furnace, water heater, dryer and stove at the same time. They took some notes, said they would talk to their boss and get back to me. It has been over a week - not one word from them. Well, A-1 came out today and installed brand new gas lines, no problems, no issues with the size of the pipe...I guess Jenks Borthers just didn't want the money I was willing to give them!
They did a great job at cleaning my drains. I called and within an hour they had someone out. I like that they charge an hourly rate because they were also able to repair a leak on my bathroom sink drain and it all costed under $200!
Called EPA to report illegal release of freon in the atmosphere. Called to have them service my central air unit and Logan said my unit was overcharged and released freon into the air without reclaiming it. He got a call from Bill the owner at 8pm to leave the job site. They never finished servicing my central air. At first it was only 1 degree warmer in my house prior to them servicing now it's 10 degrees warmer than it was before in my house and before i called them. I called a second a time to let them know that the job was incomplete and i was told to call someone else. Never will recommend to anyone
I recommend the service of Jenks Plumbing and Heating based on my experience yesterday. They are in Mason but serve the greater Lansing area. Their service charge and parts charges were reasonable, and the work was done to satisfaction. I had a prior experience with another local highly renowned outfit that had exorbitant fees for minor faucet repair. The other outfit charged the "book" rate irrespective of time spent. This does not work well if you have multiple minor repairs. Using the hourly rate, i was able to get two sink pop-ups, two valves, and a new faucet install at a reasonable price. Note that I bought the faucet from Home Depot, as the plumber acknowledged that it would be cheaper. I took off one star as I was supposed to get a call on the timeframe for arrival: the person did show up within that time frame but did not call. If you know that the faucet replacement is the most likely solution, you can save on time and money by pre-purchasing the faucet from Home Depot or equal.
DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS! They came to my aunts home on Feb. 24 to service our water heater. The guy was there for literally only 4 minutes. All he did was show me how to correctly light the water heater. He also rigged the little glass pilot light window that was broken by the other company who came out before them and told me that he isn't supposed to leave or service our water heater with the pilot window like that but "oh well, who cares, it wont start a fire so it'll be fine" was his exact words. I wrote him a check. He left. 3 days later I call them and ask why the check wasnt cashed yet and they said that they cash checks the Monday after the service was completed. The following monday came and still, it wasnt cashed. So then, on March 5, I call them again and let them know that my dad had just died and I have to go to tennesse that weekend for his funeral. I asked If i could come in and pay the $96 in cash because I had to empty my bank account and didn't want the check to bounce or overdraw my account as in Tennessee there are no PNC banks. They said it was fine and I went in that day to pay. I asked them if they could shred the check as I was in a hurry and didn't have time to wait while they went to look for it. I asked about a receipt and asked if the one I already had from the 24th would do and they said yes because you paid. Now, it's a month later. They DID NOT destroy my check like they said but instead cashed it. A whole MONTH later. So now my account is overdrawn as I am in Missouri and had to empty it again. I called jenks numerous times to discuss this matter and each time I am given the run around and am told that the accounting lady would call me. She has yet to do so. Now, I have overdraft fees and was forced to dispute the charge with my bank which may take several days. This same review will also be forwarded to the Michigan Attorney General's consumer protection division as well as the BBB. You DO NOT do this to your customers. They are very shady so watch out folks
Was just told by the owner I’m rude, I’ve called 12 times to have an issue resolved was placed on a waiting list during the cold snap last month, called to ask my place and it was clear they had forgotten about me. They say they will be out Monday, maybe I will be able to update my review to reflect that... that being said, Brian is a rock star, does great work and is not a reflection of his siblings in the office.
Quick response. Was able to figure the problems out with my furnace in a very short time. Polite, Courteous Serviceman was sent out. Thank you Logan & Thank you Jenks Brother's Plumbing. I will be setting up Yearly Service with you for the Furnace!
Beware if your not home they will lie about how long they spent there and over bill you. He claimed he was working 1.25 hours on a job he estimated at .75 hours a simple job anyone could do in 20 minutes he then wrote me up for 1.25 hours not knowing I have cameras all over my property. When I called the place and complained and said he was in his truck within 45 minutes on my video and walked around for 15 minutes doing nothing before starti bffg to work they didn't care. They charge 100$ an hour and try to scam anyway they can... they also called the county to get a permit to add a clean out to my line which I don't feel I needed..charged me 80 for the permit and 20 to fill it out. It's been 6 months and no one came to inspect it. I have had a huge hole in my yard for 6 months now that anyone could fall in. I called them a 3rd time this week and still no one has came and inspected it. Luckily my line didn't freeze all winter being exposed. So mot only did I get scammed on the estimate and he lied about how long it took him but he showed up 7 hours late...beware all of this is true.. their a family business built on milking people and charging the most possible.
