With so many power outages, we contacted K&B Energy to purchase a natural gas generator that had been recommended by an electrician friend of ours. Matthew came out, measured, and explained to us what size we would need, what they would do and how they would do it. He was very informative and clear about everything, so we could understand the entire process. We placed our order right then and there.
When they came out to install our unit, the entire crew were very efficient and worked well together. They were done before lunch!! Everything was explained about the installed unit to us, we also got our warranty. Jane at the office was always helpful when I spoke with her to make our payment in full.
I have highly recommended K&B Energy to any of our friends who ask about our unit. With the outages this winter it sure came in handy. Once for four days and another time for two days without power. The transfer switch turned our unit on automatically. My neighbors houses were dark, but we had full power and heat. No lost food, no sitting in the dark getting cold with no heat. It was wonderful not to have to worry about a thing. Well worth it, and so glad we made the decision to contact K&B!!

So we had them come out and give us a price, which the guy was very nice, I let him know a couple weeks later we where going to go ahead. He said they would be there mid May. I called mid May, they give me some story on how my township was backed up, come to find out they sent for my permit to the wrong township. The lady was rude I talked to. She said the guy would call Monday to set the appointment and Wednesday came and I called and canceled my order. Almost 8 weeks I waited. And then didn't try to fix it. Ask my why, and I told her and she said its the township, I talked my township, permit done on the same day.
K&B just has outstanding people, everyone I've had the pleasure of speaking with, or having here at my home for installation and/or service. The best part is, they'll tell you what you do NOT need to spend money when it does not need replacing. Zero pressure, just 100% efficient, helpful, honest help and service. I cannot say enough positive about K&B. These are the only folks I KNOW I can trust. Thank you K&B, Jane, Matt, Trudy, all you unnamed folks, too. Ya'll are great. That's why we've had you do installations at each of my three sister's homes, as well as our Mom. We'll be back! :)

Would I recommend K&B energy NO. Almost 11 months after getting a quote for 200 amp install the results were way below expectations and probably not even up to code. It began in aug. 2021 and was told they were really backed up it will probably be oct. before it can be done. Tick tick, set up for Mar 3 and 4th 2022. Installers show up and say they're not going to do it water in crawl space, really it's bean raining for 3 weeks strait. OK crawl space was dry when looked at in 2021. I wait 3 weeks and then call there office and talk to Jane asking for my $3000 deposit back. Response was that if Mathew quoted it we are going to do it and that I needed to get in touch with DTE. OK. I get DTE out and there rep. DTE emails me requirements and I forward them to K&B. I am back on the list great I thought at the time. Set up for Jun 7 2022. Another day off work. Installers show up and complain about water, it rained the night before and was still raining when they arrived. So I pumped it out from where that the cement was removed for 200 amp service and promptly build a stable platform to work on out of 3/4 plywood and 4X4's. The pipe fitters did not show up and I was told that they were going to run the gas around the outside of the porch. I responded if I was you I would run it through this block. No pipe ran that day. The electrician did not follow the instructions that I forwarded from DTE and cuts the riser to my weather head of 7 inches below the sill leaving it unsecured, I had to install a pipe to get by hopefully the wind doesn't remove the service from my house, also while wiring the leads from my furnace 24vac got shorted out blowing the 3 amp fuse on my furnace control board. The pipe fitters finished there job while I was at work during the following days, securing it to the deck posts (I guess) and resting it on blocks. I got in touch with Mathew Arcano and when he came out told told him I was done and not satisfied with the work. I expect a price adjustment. He refused and after I paid him closing a $12,795 job he did not even give me a receipt for the work. I once toke my car in for front end work and the ball joint fell out 3 weeks later, that used to be my worst experience with having some one work for me, until K&B, seriously I would not let them tie your shoes.
I am so happy I went with k&b energy. I checked other companies and they were two to $3,000 more and they used a carrier furnace which after 4 years already needs a tune-up or they need to be replaced. They go with the Luxaire furnace which is 80% efficient high energy and it is so quiet. They came at 9:00 a.m. and they didn't leave until 5:50 p.m. They didn't even stop for lunch break. At one point they needed an electrician because my house is an old home, it was built in 1915 and that was just part of the installment so it was installed in one day and I am extremely happy. I couldn't believe I kept asking them if they wanted lunch or wanted me to buy a pizza and they were like no we're set so they are very thorough and when they left they swept the basement and cleaned it just like they found it. Highly recommend them. 5 stars.

When house cooled enough for thermostat to work, no heat. Next trip replaced gas valve. Again only tested with bypass wire in place. Again after he left, furnace won't come on. Had a friend (HVAC tech for another company) stopped by. The safely switch on the furnace cover was out of place causing furnace not to come on. But also discovered blower fan not working to capacity causing safely switch inside furnace to kick. Called company, determined furnace needed to be replaced. When I asked about a discount, already spent $700 on unnecessary repairs and I understand parts not returnable, she said she would talk to boss and call me back. That was monday. Called her again tues, she was with a customer and would call me back. Called again wed to get installation day, same excuse. Son called on thursday, she still with customer and would call back. Still waiting for our call back.
