I truly don't understand the negative reviews for Federal Heating. We have had only positive and pleasant experiences with this company. For the past two years, Federal Heating has been our oil, heating and central a/c service provider. They are reliable, friendly, honest and have always responded right away to our phone calls. Their service calls are always professional and prompt. Their prices are very competitive and I would highly recommend them.
Update - Massachusetts had an exceptionally cold night - we woke up last Saturday morning with no heat along with many other residents. Federal Heating responded in such a timely manner. Our problem winded up being a burst pipe which was eventually taken care of by a plumber. Once we notified Federal of our problem, they dispatched a second technician who shut off part of our two zone heating so we could still have heat and no flooding. We only have great things to say about the team at Federal. It’s nice knowing you can count on a company especially during an emergency situation. A+++ service
I called Federal on a Wednesday evening before two of the first hot days of the year when I tested my air conditioning and found one zone did not work. I left a message on their answering service. The next morning I spoke to them and they said they would likely not be able to get to us that day but would get there tomorrow. Friday morning I called again to check in and get a time estimate for the technicians arrival. I was told late morning or early afternoon. After being trapped in my house waiting all morning with no phone calls or updates at 2:30 pm I called again to check in. This time they told me they would not be able to get to my house today and now it would be Monday. I couldn't believe it. I had been waiting close to 48 hours by this time. I called SILA now fully expecting to be put on the bottom of their list at a very busy time with the first heat wave of the year. Thankfully they responded not only the same day but within a few hours. After telling this story to a few people, they were not surprised. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME with Federal. Call anybody else first.
I have been a customer for 33 yrs. I purchased a new air conditioning unit 2.5 years ago. It has broken each year since I've had it. It is broken now, 95 degrees out, and they can't come fix it for another week because they don't have enough workers to cover all their calls. I had a broken furnace in February during a bad storm, cold weather, they said they would send out an emergency crew who never showed up. I waited until 2AM. I am very disappointed in their service and their inability to help all their customers during peek times - storms, cold, hot weather. They don't seem to be equipped or have the staffing to help their customers.
14 years of great relations--service is always on schedule, assistance when I need it, from new equipment to billing. They have always been very helpful. I am very satisfied.
