I just spoke with Katie in customer service and was shocked at how rude she was. We let them know our heat was broken and that we wouldn’t be home that day but to coordinate with our superintendent and apparently that was offensive and they “didn’t have time to call around a million people”. And then the second time I called her tone was aggressive and sarcastic and she transferred me to someone else the minute she knew who I was, and the second rep Ryan actually hung up on me. Shockingly bad and very unprofessional. I don’t recommend anyone work with this company.

Before we got started with Taylor & Murphy, we had seen a LOT of local oil companies' marketing materials and found that Taylor & Murphy information spoke to us as new homeowners and they had reasonable prices. What we really like about them is that they took the time to answer all of our questions before we placed our first order, and have a variety of options for their customers. The technician who came out and performed maintenance on our burner
was on-time, friendly, and efficient. Also, we appreciate that Taylor & Murphy keeps us up to date on energy efficiency tips as well as providing us with regular statements showing us where our account stands. Great to be using this trustworthy company.

Taylor & Murphy have been my oil service provider for a several years, and I have always liked their service. They were also the contractors I chose for a recent air-conditioning job and an oil to gas conversion work at my house. They have a great crew who are also very customer oriented. Mark Taylor gave me a great price and worked with me through the project. These guys are good !

Taylor & Murphy is the only oil company with whom we have renewed a contract after its expiration. In earlier experiences, we just chose the company that offered the lowest price, since there was no other way to decide. However, the T&M technicians stayed the same from year to year, & that makes a huge difference to the quality of service. We are extremely pleased with the professionalism of their work & their work ethics.& their price is good too :)

Taylor & Murphy did an excellent job installing my new oil burner & hot water heater. They were professional, on time, their prices were competitive and took the time to explain everything to me. They completed my Mass Saves rebate and were very helpful.

I want to raise a bright red flag, to warn you to avoid doing business with Taylor and Murphy (merged with Arlmont Fuel in Arlington). I had a long-scheduled, routine central air system tune-up done by Taylor and Murphy last Friday. The technician works full time in a completely unrelated field, along with working part time for Taylor and Murphy (he told me so himself). He messed something up during the tune-up, didn’t tell me about it, and I have been getting nothing but unbelievable run around from the business since then. I strongly suggest avoiding Taylor and Murphy / Arlmont Fuel.

I think Taylor & Murphy are tops.

I have had the pleasure of their service for 29 years.

Besides simply filling my tank with oil, they have been johnny on the spot for all matters having to do with my heating system, including the plumbing part of it since I heat with hot water. They have been remarkably responsive and prompt when I've had an emergency. And always always always their work has been top notch.

Several companies in the area repeatedly attempt to pull my business away from Taylor & Murphy by offering lower oil prices. But I have ignored these, especially notable in a time when fuel costs have risen so much.

This is an honest company! They did an effective repair at a reasonable price on our gas furnace.
They might have tried to sell us a new furnace but suggested that a repair might do the job. The estimate on a new furnace was far more reasonable than estimates given us by other companies. We have the highest regard for Taylor and Murphy, and will recommend and use them in the future.

Following work they did, the tenant in my property complained of more issues than I began with. When I called their manager for an explanation and to discuss the situation, they claimed there was a bigger problem and that the second floor of my house never had working heat to begin with. I asked the tenants if this was the case, they said there had been working heat. When I tried to discuss this with a manager at Taylor & Murphy, they refused to hear me out, and yelled at me: "We are done doing business with you! No more business with you! Just pay the fee and we are done!" Then he hung up. I have never had a business yell and hang up on me. I called another company and they indicated that Taylor & Murphy had installed the wrong size damper. I am very upset with the way Taylor & Murphy treated me as a customer and their work and service was unprofessional.

Our system, which was of considerable expense, has never functioned correctly for at least two separate reasons, one functional and the other related to excessive noise, we are told, due to placement design. The company has been sold, the service person who said he could not help us at the time of his visit in November because of our particularly problem until warmer weather,, but who said he would return to do so in the Spring is retired, and the new owners say they are too far away, even in the same location, to service our needs, and will not support us. We are particularly disappointed with both our product, and in the service we received. We would never work with this company, either as Taylor and Murphy, or in its new incarnation again, and advise others caution before doing so. Thank you for soliciting my review.
