Sila Heating, Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Electrical

I used Sila quite a few months ago, and have been un sure of how to rate them. I want to give them 2.5 stars. On the one hand, I like them, but on the other, I am out approximately $300, with nothing to show for it. I still do recommend them because out of the many other places, they were the one of the very few immediately available and came out ASAP. The person who came was great.

The reason for fewer stars is because when I called, I told the person on the phone about the type of furnace I had and that I wanted to make sure the person who came had experience with that. They said yes yes. Unfortunately, they didn't take that advice (message probably got lost along the line somewhere), and sent someone who wasn't entirely familiar with the furnace. I'm sure he would have been perfect if I had a furnace other than the KE system. He came over, did the same things that I had already tried many times, basically power on and off, which worked, just as it did for me, but then stopped working again later after he left, just as it had been doing for me, and that is what I had let him know before he left. So I paid $300 for something I was already doing.

He said he would contact the manufacturer for the parts. He called a few days (maybe even a week later) with the cost of the parts and installation, which would have been an additional $1000 (and I don't believe this was the part that needed fixing). However, since it was winter and we needed a working furnace, I had contacted a different company in the meantime, one that was indeed familiar with the system. They came over, and within a few seconds of diagnosis, knew exactly what the issue was, had the part in their truck and fixed it. Also fixed the heat exchanger. It was also close to a $1000, a little less iirc. Had I contacted them first, I wouldn't have spent the $300 on Sila. So in a way it is my fault, but its also partly their fault for not sending someone familiar with the system.

I do still recommend them.

I had an issue with my Bosch- On demand water heating unit, and had the toughest time finding someone to assist me. Thankfully I found Sila, and was lucky enough to have Ken M. come out and help me. The service was quick, professional and responsive. They overnighted parts to get me back in business which was appreciative because I was without heat and water in the middle of January.

I have just purchased my first condo. It was built 18 years ago and I knew that the prior owners never took care of it. So, I initially called Sila services to get this HVAC system looked at.

They sent over a HVAC technician named Brian. Not only was he very friendly, but he was able to look at my system and identify issues with it, like a cracked heat exchanger.

So, an HVAC replacement was in sight. Brian was able to provide me a quote on the spot with one of the best HAVC brands out there; Carrier.

After shopping around for other quotes, I found that Sila were the best offer. They wanted my business, and were willing to negotiate on not using a crane for the condenser (which reduced cost).

On installation day, two HVAC installers came over. Everyone was on time and I was seriously impressed by how professional and knowledgable the two guys were. They did the job right, and they also added a few bells and whistles to the installation that I didn't expect them to do, like building a NICE platform for the rooftop condenser, labeling the exhaust/intake pipes, wrapping up the systems' outtake duct, and more. You can tell that these folks can install a HVAC system in their sleep.

I can't recommend them enough! I'm definitely going to reach out to them again when it's time for this system to get replaced.

Scheduled annual AC maintenance, they had an opening in their schedule which allowed me to pull up the appointment by a week. Technician was right on time (4 min early actually) and did his work fast, with attention to quality and detail.

Overall a solid experience. Friendly and got the job done quickly. Only downside is that it was significantly more expensive than I expected - $675 just plug the grill into the gas line.

Ryan Love was so helpful. He clearly explained things, helped me out with some rebate questions, quickly and efficiently installed my new filter and grate and checked on the final installation details. Excellent!

In my experience over a number of years, Sila phone representatives understand a caller’s needs and give appropriate responses. Sila field technicians are on time, communicate well, and perform a/c annual maintenance skillfully.

Sila HVAC is truly a godsend, especially Nick Masone's outstanding services! We moved into our new home over the summer and within a few months, the HVAC went to shambles. Nick replaced 3 nest thermostats that weren't wired properly, he fixed our hot water that had faulty wiring and did a tune up on our tankless boiler. We called on SO many other HVAC people that either never showed up or tried to scam us in having us replace everything and all we needed was one amazing person to come in and tell us the truth and fix everything. We will be calling on Nick soon as our AC system will need significant repairs and throughout this process I've realized that it's so tough to find trustworthy honest people. We are so fortunate to have had Nick come to our home and thank you again!

Not sure what type of quality control there is for someone to become a builder, but we ended buying a gut renovated condo 5 years ago that’s full of cheap finishes and faulty installation of HVAC and water heating systems. When we first called Sila folks to take a look, there were upfront about the issues our system has, and said not much can be done in terms of repairs. Then , we called another highly rated company, who told us everything was good and just needed to fix something. We obviously believed that fake reality and paid over a grand with no fix per se. The system failed completely within a day and we were left with no heat. Then we called Sila folks back, who accommodated us at the earliest slot and and replaced the entire HVAC and air conditioning system. Finally, we learnt our lesson- Never to trust cheap companies. Though the technicians at Sila are expensive, they know what they are doing, and I have complete trust on them and would only want them to touch our system for any maintenance. I recommend Sila to anyone in a heart beat.
