Dave installed two central air units (two separate zones) including duct work in April/May of this year. We have a house that was built in 1917 and had multiple extensions done - so not a straightforward job. I waited to leave this review until the summer was over to give an accurate account of the overall work.

Overall: we couldn't be happier with the service that we got.

Quoting process: Alewife air came by quickly in response to our quote request. Dave was able to assess the work that needed to be done quickly. We had a few other companies stop by and they either suggested a much more complicated approach or simply said it wasn't practical and tried to steer us toward 8-10 mini split units.

Work: Dave's crew was consistent, courteous and always showed up on time. They all seemed to take pride in their work and always left their work neat and clean. The work was done on time and Dave was able to accommodate some requests on our part for vent placement/etc. easily.

Service: one of the rooms didn't cool down as much as we had hoped for. Dave came by the next day after our call and looked at the problem. He offered to adjust the vent size for free but also suggested for us to give it some more time to assess. He felt that the vents were working properly for the size room and was afraid that a bigger size went would cool down the room disproportionally. Turns out he was right - the reason for the room not cooling down properly was actually an issue with hot water backing up into the baseboard and the AC fighting our faulty heating system.

Performance: after a few heat waves, we couldn't be happier. The AC cools down all rooms evenly.

Communication: Dave was a pleasure to deal with and we never felt that he was trying to sell us something that we didn't need. He responded to us quickly - even on weekends or late at night.
