The technician, Chris conducted a thorough and excellent diagnostic servicing of our two gas heating furnaces following the receipt of a report from Hurley David that we had cracks in both heat exchangers. We were told by H&D that they needed immediate replacement. We were required to sign liability waivers if the heat was left on. We contacted Western Mass Heating and Cooling which was a recommended authorized dealer for Trane Corporation the manufacturer of our heat exchangers. Chris arrived within 48 hours of notification and conducted a 3 hour service. He identified several areas which the H & D service had missed: including cleaning the supply ducts, drains and intake pipes all of which required cleaning and leveling the exhaust pipes. Chris conducted a combustion test on both systems & confirmed they were running properly and correctly without any evidence of cracks. We were immediately relieved and we saved over $ 4,000 thousands of dollars of H&D labor estimates without parts. Top notch! Amazing employees, all of them from the office to the person that shows up in their truck. Extremely professional, clean, knowledgeable and nice. I use them for my everyday maintenance and a few times for emergencies (showed up Extremely quick and with a smile, not grumpy like most emergency call people) I will continue to use this company for all my needs they offer. The thing that impressed me the most about this company is they don't just send anyone to your place, they ask your problem and send the most qualified person they have in that area of expertise. I worked with Western MA Heating on Cooling for a whole house, gut to studs renovation. Western MA Heating Cooling provided new plumbing, as well as mini splits and an ERV system. Throughout the entire process, which was extensive, they were thorough, responsive and provided excellent service. Highly recommended.

Professional and on-time installation of new energy efficient ducted heating and A/C system. The installers were polite, efficient and very easy to work with. They explained what was happening and showed us vent turn off valves. Our old, large furnace got removed and recycled. The follow-up was also great. Carol, the office manager is taking care of the rebates and registering all warranties. I highly recommend this local firm.

We hired Western Mass Heating, Cooling & Plumbing to install our heat pump and mini-splits and we were continually impressed with everyone's skillfulness, responsiveness and professionalism. We felt well-informed during the planning stage and Lyle was a great help in picking and arranging indoor units. The installation team around Jeff and Ben was extremely accommodating to a shifting schedule on our side, made sure to plan around our toddler's naps, all while staying ahead of schedule and keeping COVID-safe distances. Needless to say the heating system works as advertised and we're happy with the whole process.

Expert recent professional retrofit mini-split heat pump installation at our 60's era remodeled ranch house! Technicians (a supervisor and an apprentice) were fast, friendly and really knowledgeable about Mitsubishi Hyper Heat systems. Retrofits can have unforeseen complications yet they had the units installed, connected, filled, tested and commissioned in less than a day. We like the WiFi thermostat option because you can move it around until you find the best location.

We picked Western Mass HVAC because in late 2019 they cheerfully diagnosed and repaired defective installations by a different subcontractor (different house too) in 2019.

We had a plumbing emergency in our home, and these guys absolutely saved us! We had a broken sewer pipe, in a place that would be impossible to excavate. They came up with a creative solution that prevented having to dig up our basement. Matt, Andrew, and Cody were extremely nice and incredibly efficient, finishing a large, complex job in less than 24 hours. We simply couldn't believe how well this went - we thought we might have to move out of our house for weeks!

This 5 star rating is as much for Scott Cernak, the owner, as it is for his business - Western Mass Heating and Cooling. Western Mass was the HVAC subcontractor on our new home build. Scott is extraordinarily knowledgeable and responsive. He helped us immensely during the build, finding creative solutions when problems arose - and he even came in under our allowance! Fabulous. Scott has also (successfully) problem-solved some issues in our house (which were not the result of his work). He seems to have multiple ways of finding a solution and a way of explaining it to non-HVAC people. Not sure when the guy sleeps as he responds, really promptly, to emails. HVAC is one of the things you just don't want to have to think about day-to-day, you know? Hire this guy and you can spend your days without worry (at least not in relation to your HVAC).
