Baylies Insulation

Through the Masssave program, I contracted with Baylies insulation company to have extra insulation blown into my walls. John and James arrived within the scheduled time frame and did an excellent job leaving no mess behind. The guys were very personable and answered all my questions, and we’re happy to explain anything that I needed. I can highly recommend both the company and both workers to anybody looking to have insulation work done.

The Baylies team was wonderful to work with from my initial call with Liz to the final call to make sure I was happy with the work they did. As a new homeowner I am a novice and was nervous that the Mass Save program job would not be done thoroughly and correctly. I was put at ease immediately with the insulation team they sent out. Such nice guys. The senior team showed up later to double check the work and finish the vent installation which proved to be challenging. A second trip out was needed but was done successfully (and creatively) with excellent communication. The doors already are proving to be better sealed and the house overall feels warmer. The team of two workers (John and James, as they introduced themselves) installed attic insulation today, including soffit ventilation, survey for house efficiency etc. I was pleasantly surprised how quickly they worked - no distractions, talks, breaks etc. They found everything they needed, put everything as it supposed to be, cleaned after themselves etc. I really liked their professionalism, politeness and efficiency of work. Another important for me: they called in advance from road and informed that they stuck in traffic (we have bridge repairs that messed up everyone’s commute), gave exact time of arrival. I greatly appreciate it, because I like to know what to expect and I can plan my work as well. Highly recommend these guys!

The guys were amazing John and James did a great job and were very careful with the house. Very profesional. Would definitely recommend them. They were very patient and navigated through the whole process with us.

As a first time homeowner of an older house (1940), we had the Rhode Island Energy RIE EnergyWISE home evaluation done by RISE Engineering expecting it to need work.

After the evaluation you receive a proposal of recommendations. Once you sign that document & send it back you have two options: RISE assigns a subcontractor for you or you choose your own. I wanted to choose my own because I like certainty.

To request your own subcontractor, you send the signed RISE proposal back and call to request a subcontractor. That subcontractor then calls you to schedule the work.

When it comes to making a choice for weatherization and insulation projects, there are a lot of subcontractors, but I am glad I chose Baylie’s.

Liz set us up conveniently for a Saturday, which meant I didn’t need to use time off from work. Love it.

Then on install day, Aaron and two other guys showed up ready to go. You would think that RISE report would have all the required work, but that was not the case. Thankfully Aaron noticed there was an error on my proposal - no mention of proper attic ventilation and required work that was not necessary. You really need to have correct ventilation to get the most efficiency out of your weatherization and to protect the roof from extreme temperatures.

Since Aaron has been in the weatherization field for a while now, he was familiar with the program and knew who to call. He was able to adjust the proposal and get approval for the correct vents within an hour. (Later on we received an adjuster invoice that accounted for this change)

All 3 guys did great quality work and had my 1300 square foot house done in a day. Notably, the attic door shuts nicely, even after adding foam & weather stripping, as they planned installation well. Aaron then returned a few days later to put in the roof vents, as they needed to be ordered, which were done from the roof side so we didn’t need to schedule another day to be home.

You could tell right away the house was much cozier and quieter. It definitely holds the heat much better now and in the summer, it will hold the cool air while shedding the excessive heat through the attic vents.

Lesson being to those looking to schedule work - not all insulation companies are the same. Most can do the jobs listed on the proposal, but you want an experienced team to get it done right and pay attention to the little details. It’s the difference between an OK job and a great job. Make sure to request Baylie’s!

Excellent service and response. I had a energy audit from Massave and was waiting over 2 months for their contractor to start job. Reached out to Baylies to see if they could do the job on a Wednesday and the job was done within a week of the phone call. Being in the inspection business I knew things to look for and they checked all the boxes. Very clean and respectful crew also. Walked the property a few days after completion and they were very clean also. Would never know they were there. Highly recommended

When the Baylies team showed up to my house and looked in my attic told me I was under insulated I was shocked.not only did they Fix the problem they made it way easier than I ever thought It could be.Turns out I qualified for programs and it cost me nothing out of pocket. I highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again on a future home if needed.

We brought on Geoff and his team to assess desperately needed insulation of my mothers house in addition to a complete heating and cooling system replacement. Geoff and his team came by, assessed our needs, made recommendations and went above and beyond to help us execute. We required new ducts and instead of charging us a price high, he subcontracted the heating and cool replacement work to an HVAC supplier that had the means to make their own ducts making it much cheaper. Geoff and his team helped us fill out all of the rebate and heat loan paperwork even though he had subbed it out, and the insulation he and his team did was immaculate. They got into tight spaces others said they couldn’t, and made sure they didn’t miss anything.

John and crew did a great job insulating our home. They were always on time and worked very fast. They used drop cloths and left the house very clean.
