    We have the whole house service contract with BGE Home, we have actually has it for a good while. The staff at BGE Home have always been very helpful and friendly. We have never had any problems with our contract or our service.

    Whenever we have a service call in we know exactly what to expect. The service technicians have always been on point with getting this back up and working.

    I highly recommend BGE Home for your home service needs.

    BGE Home was out on 6/18/2021 to repair my Heat Pump for not cooling my home. The technician that arrived did not from the start make a good impression. My indoor fan is located in a laundry room that does have a restroom inside of it. He took it upon himself to use the restroom without asking permission while he was checking the inside part of my system. He then proceeded to my outside unit where he told me that it was low on coolant. He put coolant in the system and said that it should take care of the issue for awhile and the part we would need to fix it would not be covered under my service plan anyway.

    I called back in two days after his so called repair still with the same exact issue. Only to not be scheduled until today almost 1 month later. Since your technician left my AC has never shut off and my home is maintaining 79-81 degrees and my setting is 72.

    Fast forward to today. I asked for a senior technician or supervisor due to my previous experience. A Team Leader Justin Kennedy showed up to address my concerns. He spent time to explain my multiple issues. My outdoor unit was extremely dirty on the coils. He also explained in layman’s terms that I have not only a bad valve in my AC he also showed me with a piece of electronic equipment that my coil inside is leaking Freon and that only way to repair my issue is to replace the coil and valve at the cost of $2030.00.

    I pay your company over $60 per month for service only 1 to have your technician totally mis diagnose my problem. 2. Make me feel uncomfortable with him in my home by not asking to use my restroom with a door that was not closed all the way with children in my home. 3. Have to wait a month for you to return to fix a problem that was never resolved in first place.

    As a result of all above issues my thank you for your business from BGE Home is a quote of $2030.00 to repair a problem that I may or may not had before your technician spent a total of 15 total mins putting unneeded freon in my unit.

    So at this point in time I have no choice but to repair my system at an extreme cost to my family. I was offered a discount by your Field Supervisor of 20%. He was very helpful in exposing my true issues and I am confident in this diagnosis. However, it is very troublesome that I spent 40 days in hot house and now have ran my AC 24/7 for those days at extreme cost to me on my BGE Bill and then pay you $2k.

    This is not the BGE Home we have known for the last 20 years. Highly considering canceling all my service plans when this is resolved.

    It should not take a supervisor every time to get a proper diagnosis.

    We have had a BGE Home contract for years. The Technicians are usually very good, but the service call center! We called because our central air unit started acting up, called to set up an appointment and was told we had a balance on our bill. Now, we pay our contract within our BGE bill. We went out of state, and on return, we paid off our balance. Told by BGE Home,, they didn't get there portion yet. We have to pay a percentage of the balance before they can send out tech. Now. I had my purse stolen on 8/17, police report everything. My driver's license, insurance cards, credit cards, everything was stolen in my purse! Had to cancel everything, and replace everything! Informed BGE Home that I would have to pay with cash or go get a money order to cover balance and service, even called back again a second time to reiterate our circumstances. Next day waiting, waiting, and waiting for tech. Called in to find out order was canceled! Lied and said they called our home at 7am to inform us!! Lie! Long story short! We've been a customer for years! Only use our contract once every couple of years, You've got paid every month for nothing. Every year for nothing! Why not accommodate a long standing customer and extend the courtesy of letting us pay when the Tech got there. We would rather pay more money for better customer service some where else!!!! Don't waist your money with this company!!! Nobody knows who's who when it comes down to blame!!!

    We have a service plan for appliances and was originally told that my wall oven was not included. Later the same day, my husband called and spoke to a different person and we told IT was covered. How happy was I to hear that news. We made an appointment for them to come out and a few weeks later (only took them lest than 5 min) we were back in action. Very pleased with service rendered.

    My refrigerator freezer was not draining on the defrost cycle. Water/ice was building up in the freezer section. I have Smart Service so I contacted BGE Home and explained the problem. My appointment was verified prior to the appointment day. The service technician quickly went to work and cleared the blockage. This was a few weeks ago and the refrigerator continues to operate and drain perfectly. I am quite pleased with my Smart Service Plan and the response from BGE Home. Thank you for a job well done.

    On the morning of 11/17/2020, The BGE Technician called ten minutes prior to arrival to completed a yearly check on my natural gas furnace. The technician completed a checklist of items, completed a component electrical measurements check plus a few other HVAC related checks. The furnace was checked and tested, the condensation line and drain were cleaned. After the work was complete a customer checklist was emailed for my records. All work was covered under my Smart Service Plan. I am very pleased and impressed with the high level of expertise displayed by the technician to prepare my furnace for the upcoming Winter season.

    I have a very complex hybrid heating system. Not easy to diagnose. BGE Home technician took the necessary time to identify the problem, and completed the necessary repairs. I am always impressed with the service. Given a choice, BGE Home is always my first option.

    Justin arrived to measure my rear basement entry door for purchase & installation. I request an premium steel door with wood core. He only showed me one door and told me that was my only option, addition to that, I notice on the page of the door description, it stated the core of the door was foam filled. I thanked him for his time.

    Hands down the worst company ever. Dishwasher broke. Took 2 months for someone to run a "diagnostic test" which was a snapshot on his camera phone when he came. In and out the door in 5 minutes. Told me they would order the part and give me a call to come back and fix. Never happened. Called 3 times and they cant tell me if the part has even come in yet. This was 2 months ago (total 4 months so far). Simple fix so I ordered the part online for $50 bucks off amazon and fixed myself. Goodbye BGE home forever!

    Not sure what has happened at BGE Home. Been a customer for many years. Quality and Integrity appears to be gone...Was a loyal customer, but no more..

    Took 3 trips and about 8 weeks to repair my DISHWASHER. Would have been 4 trips, if not for the fact of opening the dishwasher door and finding it would not open all the way. Lucky the techs were still in the driveway. The came back in and fixed that, but 2 weeks later found electrical tape falling onto the floor. Guess they couldn't't figure out how to put kick plate back on properly.

    HOT WATER HEATER. Had them in to replace my failing gas power vented hot water heater. That evening, when the unit kicked on to heat the water, the power vent started but heard nothing but vibrations throughout the house. Went and checked the unit and found the hot water copper pipe coming from heater that feeds the rest of the hot water in the house was soldered and touching the pvc exhaust pipe..So when power vent was running was causing the extreme vibration. Then I removed the manual that was attached to the heater - found a big dent there. So I called BGE Home to have them fix the issues. Tech came out the next day, tried to use foam pipe insulation to wrap around the copper pipe. Eventually he did redo the copper pipe run and issue was resolved. He said call back to BGE Home to discuss the damage. Sent email to sales person with pictures of the damage. Got response back that BGE Home would give me $75 credit. I said no way and replied I wanted unit replaced. Got response back saying that damage has no affect on functionality of unit. I responded saying I want unit replaced and to have manager contact me.

    After 2 weeks, got nothing back from BGE Home. No credit, no callback.

    DO NOT Recommend BGE Home for any service contracts.

    I had my annual AC check up. Everything was working fine. After the inspection was over, the technician said everything is in good working order. I left when they did to run a few errands. I came back 2 hours later and the AC was not working. I called to get them to come back. Have to wait a week. For an issue they caused. Ridiculous. I asked if I could talk to the tech just to see is they forgot to turn something back on. She said it’s not possible. I’m getting a new company.
