Michael Bonsby HVAC and Plumbing

We've had the same HVAC system for 16 years and it just wasn't handling hot summers anymore. Couldn't get the humidity out of the house and no efficiency whatsoever. We've had the system serviced in the past, but recently we found out that we had a refrigerant leak and sure enough we decided to replace the system.
We chose Michael Bonsby because of their high ratings, professionalism and attention to detail for its customers. From the time when Zeke came to our house to assess the system and give us a recommendation and go over all options, to scheduling, financing, it only took a couple of days until installation. Installation was done in one day, from 9 to 5, very professional, with the utmost attention to all aspects. James and his apprentice were awesome! This is hard work and trust me, guys, we appreciate every minute of the effort you put in!

This past Sunday we moved into our new home and observed a brown spot on a first floor ceiling beneath a second floor shower. Having bought homes before and understanding the irony associated to the new home process, immediately I suspected that the seal beneath the shower had failed.

I searched for plumbers on google and Mike Bonsby had competitive Reviews.

To my surprise the actual service matches and exceeds reviews. The company dispatched a plumber named Jeremiah who showed up early which was greatly appreciated.

Jeremiah communicated during every step of the process: 1. explained the required visit initial cost, 2. explained that he would first diagnose and then price, 3. explained that it would be our choice whether to accept quote and have the leak repaired.

We were in the process of moving in furniture during a rain storm at the same time that Jeremiah was working. He saw us struggling with moving a mattress and immediately jumped in to help us move the bed.

The repair was properly completed, the price was fair and competitive given that it was a Sunday call.

The services were excellent and I would recommend the Mike Bonsby to anyone needing timely and professional plumbing work.

Everyone at Michael Bonsby - from the technicians, to the office staff, to Michael himself - has been fantastic throughout my entire experience. I have used Michael Bonsby for numerous years for regular HVAC servicing, and when my unit needed to be completely replaced, the Michael Bonsby team made what could have been a stressful experience seamless. They were extremely responsive, friendly, and professional. Could not recommend more highly!

Incredibly responsive - and got me on the schedule very quickly. I have a heat pump that has been a real pain in the you know what...and have had issues with it since is was put in (not by Michael Bonsby!). Davontay McKinzie was my tech that day - super helpful, gave me options to get the system back up and running. Cost was very reasonable and will have them back to install my new thermostat and to charge my system. Thank you guys for such a positive experience!

Called because I had used them in the past. AC was pumping out hot air, and wanted a pro to check everything out before I went out and bought a new thermostat (which was my suspicion in the first place.)

Liam the tech was helpful and was able to isolate the issue to indeed be the thermostat itself.

In regards to the one star review, there are a couple of reasons. First, I had a time window of 12-4…tech showed up at 4:30. I wouldn’t have minded, but I didn’t even get a phone call to let me know of the delay.

Also, I was told that there would be an $89 charge for the tech coming out. When it came time to pay, the total was over $300. This included an additional “Thermostat Restart Fee” of $206. Let me walk you through the steps taken for this process. On the thermostat menu, select “Reset”. That’s it. $200 to press “Reset”. I was never told there would be an extra fee to push a button, and this didn’t even end up being necessary since the thermostat itself was broken.

So my advice would be to follow the tech around and ask if something is a hidden fee before they do anything. And if anyone needs their thermostat restarted, I will happily do it for half that to save you some money!

We were fortunate to have Joe Bonsby of Michael Bonsby HVAC and Plumbing come repair an exterior hose bib as well as look at some challenges we were having with our master shower. In comparison to other plumbing firms we’ve used - Joe was straightforward and focused on solving the issue vs. up selling us on a larger body of work than was really needed. The problem was addressed quickly and after this experience, I would wholeheartedly recommend their services on both the plumbing and HVAC sides moving forward.
