Barstow & Sons Heating and Cooling

Excellent service when our A/C went down in July. We knew we needed a new cooling AND heating system. Mr. Eaton worked with us to find the best solution for our house, answering all our questions and concerns patiently and quickly. The new Carrier system is working wonderfully. We highly recommend Barstow and Sons.

Barstow was the second (and final) local company we contacted to replace a 20-year old HVAC unit - one of two in the home. They did an excellent job all around. The entire process was coordinated on behalf of my family, who are remote from my location, and in their 80s. In spite of being three time zones away from the work, Barstow's initial evaluation was detailed and communicative with me, and the final installation went very well for my family locally. The cost was reasonable, with the proposal offering three options...good, better and best - excellent. The details were clear and concise, and the Barstow team (including service technicians, estimator and expediters) were available to swiftly answer questions that were important to the customer. At every point, the Barstow team was professional, courteous and prompt each time we interacted. This work was completed in late-July.....when the HVAC industry is at their busiest...they didn't have to be so helpful, but they were. That's a sign of a responsive and responsible service provider.

Honest, reliable and professional. A tech from another company told us our system needed a full replacement. we had Barstow & Sons come out for an estimate, owner Charles Eaton spent a little extra time to diagnose the issue and fixed our system on the spot. He could have tried to sell us a whole new system for thousands of dollars, instead he took the honest approach and fixed it for a few hundered. We will certainly be calling them when our system finally fails for good!

We had five estimates for replacing our heat pump with a new high efficiency unit. Although it was hard to do a direct compare because different shops specialize in different manufacturers and products, we found that overall Chuck's quote was the best price for a high level unit. Everything was listed clearly in the estimate, and there were no surprises or delays. Chuck and Ben showed up on time and were finished the new install plus a duct repair before dinner. They worked clean and were very respectful of our home. Jennifer took care of all the scheduling, rebate applications, and contacting the inspector for follow-up. I am glad we chose Barstow for our install; looking forward to continuing with them for maintenance and service.
