This was a warranty call, the service guy came out and did a thorough evaluation. His thermometer gun was off so he went out to get the old fashion thermometer. Thankfully my husband had his own gun to advise the service guy of this error. But once he got a correct reading he found the problem quickly and also made some recommendations on what to keep the air at to keep it energy efficient.
Being that it was Sunday evening, I very much appreciated someone coming out within a couple hours of me calling. The Technician was very helpful, knowledgeable & professional. He wanted to make sure that the issue was resolved so that my family would be comfortable. I would most definitely recommend them & will be using them in the future if I need anything.
My A/C unit was installed in a brand new home at the start of last year. After having this unit not run for the winter and upon restarting there was a very strong odor coming out of vents that would not go away. I contacted my builder and they suggested pouring water down pee traps. I then contacted Bell Mechanical, they also suggested same thing. I did this and the smell still persisted. I contacted Bell Mechanical and they sent out a tech that inspected the unit and suggested spraying some type of cleaner on coil. He also said that if it worked I should look at getting a UV light to help keep bacteria from forming. I asked if there was a smell to cleaner because of my bad allergies. I was reassured that there was no smell so he sprayed the system down. The first night I had to sleep in my car the smell was so bad. The second night I wore a mask to sleep in my house. By the third night it was bearable to sleep, but still very uncomfortable. After a week things seem to get back to normal and the original smell had seem to disappear. Fast forward to last week. Monday my A/C stopped working in the morning. I called around noon to see if someone could come out, was told no one available someone will be out tomorrow but don’t know what time they will be there. Tuesday tech shows up and finds a leak in coil in attic, says he is going to try at weld to fix. I told tech he is going to have a very hard time welding aluminum to get a new part ordered so we don’t have to wait. Tech still decides to try and fix. Two hours later realizes he cannot fix, sends info to Bell Mechanical. I call customer service and they have no idea what is going on, nor can they find the information on what part to order. They tell me to call back Wednesday. I call Wednesday morning and no one still has any idea if part is ordered, I get told to call back later. I call back a couple hours later and they finally find the info and say part should be in tomorrow. Meanwhile it’s 92 degrees in my house with no A/C for 3 days already. I call back Thursday to see if part has arrived and I was told system was down to call back later. I call back later and to say everyone was clueless would be the understatement of the century. No one could tell me if the part was available or if it was in transit or if it was in a warehouse hanging out to be picked up. So now my patients is out the door, I have three kids sleeping in fans at 80 something degrees. I go purchase two window units just to cool my house down, which I would have done Monday had I known I was going to take as long as it did. I called my builder to see if there was anything they could do because I could get zero feedback from Bell Mechanical. My builder called me back and was in contact with Bell said the part was going to be in late Thursday and they will have someone pick up and come by. I wait until around 4 and no one contacts me so I reach out again to see what the hold up is and the part some how was not at the place where they were going to pick up. I am then told Friday morning it will be in and they will send someone then. 5 days without A/C $700 out of my own pocket for someone’s incompetence in ordering process. Also the possibility that the chemicals sprayed in my system did further damage other than the damage to the coil. I have been told by everyone this is anomaly and I have nothing to worry about, but that what worries me the most. In less than a years time I have had two major problems with a system your company installed. Also the service I have received was subpar at best. Zero sympathy, which I don’t expect in the world we live in now. Zero competence, lack of knowledge about the product your selling and installing.
I have been using Bell Mechanical since my husband and I purchased our home in 2013. We have subscribed to the yearly maintenance every year that takes place in the spring and fall. This takes all the stress off of us and I know our unit is being maintained by professionals. Every tech that has serviced us has been professional, kind and goes out of their way to answer any questions I have. I highly recommend Bell Mechanical for all your a/c and heater care.
We have been a customer of Bell Mechanical for over 10 years, since we purchased our house. The air conditioner stopped working on a friday afternoon at 5 pm. Called Bell Mechanical and was told someone would be out the next day. Assured we would have a repair man on Saturday. No phone call, no one answers phone on Saturday and no repair. Had to call another company and they were here in less than one hour. Beware of Bell mechanical.
This is one of the best experiences i have had with an AC company. They made sure i understood everything they were doing and they even changed my filter for me. The staff is very friendly and they do quality work. I would definitely recommend Bell Mechanical to all of my family and friends.
Scheduled our routine HVAC maintenance with Venita and was given a window of 8a-12n on 7/6. At 11:30a today spoke with Tammy at the office to make sure they were still coming and she said she would check with the tech and get back with me. No return call. Called back in and spoke with Jessica at 12:30p and explained that I had to be at an appt. at 2p. Jessica said she would check with tech and let me know. Per Jessica another hour and a half before arrival so basically 2p. I have no problem with people running late as long as there is a phone call letting me know and when your past the window provided (8a-12n) maybe offer to reschedule the customer. Now cancelling my 2p appt. and hoping Bell Mechanical shows up.
Scheduled a routine ac check several weeks ago; push my appointment back per Bell's request to me. Re-scheduled for today 6/20/19 between 8am - 12pm. Customer service called me mid-morning today to confirm appointment and technician failed to show up. Call customer service to locate technician and was giving all the reasons why he is not on time. Apparently technician is in Baton Rouge on another job. As I understand situations are different each time and issues may esculate; I would recommend having a technician designated to service routine calls so that appointments are met.
I have had issues in the past, but never commented on it. This is the straw that broke the camels back. At this time I can not recommend Bell Mechanical for anything.
Our experience with the Bell Mechanical team was superb. They are on time, professional, respectful and very good at what they do. More than just "getting the job done" they stand in the customer's shoes and deliver a thoughtful level of expert service. Don't pass up the opportunity to choose Bell if you need 'em!
