Technician stated that the issue was an error during installation- however air trim will not fix the issue. Asking me to pay $1800. I’d appreciate air tron doing what is best.

So Airtron installed my new furnace a few years back. They did an OK. It needed warranty repair right away as the exhaust fan was off balance and shook everything, but it was Bryant and it was a decent price for what I hope is good quality.
This repair call was for my humidifier. The water wasn’t flowing. I called for an appointment, and was advised I’d have a diagnostic fee of over $100….I agreed. The tech came out, did the repair (a blocked line—which he simply cleared and was done in about and hour or less. The quote for the service “humidifier repair” was like $350 (he showed me a shiny laminated rate card with all the fees listed). Frame that as $350 per hour, and if you count the diagnostic fee, $50 each way to/from my house. “Or,” the tech said “you can sign up for a service plan and today’s charges would be covered”. If I picked the plan, (which would cost as much as the service), the service would be covered. I asked the tech if the diagnostic fee would be refunded if I signed up. He said he didn’t know, but then tried to call the office. Of course, it’s after 5pm, so the techs are out in the field with no support—no one answered. “I’ll write it on the ticket that you asked and you can call the office”.
So when I call the office I learn the diagnostic fee is not covered by the plan. “But it will be next time”. Why don’t the techs know this if they are signing up plans in the field.
Don’t get me wrong, I get that there are costs in training techs, vehicles, materials and supplies. But $450? I can easily afford this, but what about families that can’t? The rates seem intentionally high to strong arm you into signing up for an annual plan. Beware.

Chris did an excellent job diagnosing the issue that had been happening for a good week.. The weather was very cold but did not deter him from diagnosing and repairing the outside heat pump ODT fan, for some reason the fan was running backwards plus had icing on those fans.

The technicians were very professional and kind. They were able to fix the issue pretty quickly. The reason it's not 5 stars is, I called them out in the summer time when I was having similar issues. Air was not blowing upstairs. The issue that was discovered was the vent stack the funnels air upstairs was completely disconnected inside the wall. Pretty sure that was in the same state in the summer as well, but they didn't diagnose it at that time. So, thankful they got it fixed but initial trip should have been able to find this issue instead of going 6 months and having to call them out again.

Airtron has been our HVAC service provider since our house was built 26 years ago. We now have two HVAC systems and the furnace for our main floor went out the Thursday before Christmas. We started calling immediately and couldn’t get through. The line for clients with service contracts who had an emergency rang busy all day and night and the line for leaving a message sent me to a full voicemail box.
My husband finally got through to an answering service on Saturday morning and was told they would pass along our emergency. We had no call back at all that day. I called back on Christmas night and got the answering service again. Again, they said they would share our message and, again, no call back. We finally called a local company who came to look at it and communicated with us the entire time about when they could get the part and be back to fix it. They were here today to take care of it and got our furnace working again in less than 1/2 an hour.
When my husband reached out to Airtron again today, he was told a tech could come between 12-5 today, 6 days after our initial attempt to contact them. Yes, I understand it was a holiday weekend, but Airtron was completely unresponsive and refused to communicate with us until it was convenient for them. No one apologized or acknowledged our stress or frustration with their company. In fact, reading reviews from clients who did have service over the holidays is hard to read. Moving forward, we will be using the company who cared about our comfort and communicated with us all along.
