    It must be nice to be rich. At least I assume these guys are, because we had a consultation with them, and when we were ready to pull the trigger I could not get a hold of them AT ALL, so clearly they didn't need our money, at least.

    Voicemails to the office were never returned (weird that no one would pick up during business hours), emails were never responded to, and calls to the consultation person were left unanswered-- all after repeated contact attempts over two weeks. It was as if the business had completely shut down.

    When it was clear Shavitz was not interested in our business, or perhaps closed permanently, we ended up going with American Vintage Home. We ended up being pretty happy with them, so maybe it was for the best. We spent a little more, but got A LOT more. However, the ghosting from Shavitz caused a delay in the project, so we ended up having to move in during the construction, rather than having it done before we moved in.

    Months later, I saw a Shavitz van parked in our neighborhood-- so clearly they had NOT closed down. The experience caused me to wonder, and do a little research. My best guess is that since we are a bit under the average age for typical homeowners, Shavitz might have assumed we weren't good for the money-- even after telling them we'd be paying in cash. It doesn't make a lot of sense considering that we just bought the house and knew we would be budgeting for AC.

    It's cool though, American Vintage Home ended up liking money.

    The serviceman showed up at the scheduled time, introduced himself, did the system check, answered my questions, and was on his way. Very courteous and professional. I think Shavitz is the best in the business which is why I have been a long-time customer!

    I have the utmost regard for Miguel, Tim, and Sean Rankin, their project manager. They answered all my questions and made me feel at ease. Compared to other companies that I considered, Shavitz was most thorough and most scientific. Sean made me aware of the energy related incentives available with my new unit while the others didn't mention it.

    This installation was challenging because my condo development is a converted apartment building with the HVAC unit located in a small closet space; and I have a first floor unit; imagine working in a crowded space while having to string some connections up to the roof. It's not easy but Tim and Miguel handled it well.

    The new HVAC unit is far quieter than the old one in my condo unit. Miguel was a real trooper since he had to work the second day of installation by himself, going between my unit and the roof. He clearly likes his job. And when he packed up his gear, you would have never known that anyone was working in my unit for two days; it was very clean.

    Scheduled a service call for a 5 year new mini-split a/c system that was not working and even provided the “error code” when I scheduled. Shavitz guy, David D., came out and bashed us and the person who installed the system and told us that’s what happens when you hire fly by night people. He was grilling us asking if they had used a torque wrench (how would we know?) It was installed by a mechanical engineer who also passed extra training to be certified by the manufacturer—not a fly by night person, and we paid handsomely. Told us it would be $5,100 to find a coolant leak, and could cost more. Pressured us to sign a contract that day for a mere $100 off (of $5,100). Tried to sell us an annual maintenance plan (maybe they should focus on getting this working first and then worry about maintenance). Said might be better just to get a whole new system (we paid about $20,000 only 5 years ago and these are supposed to last decades). We did not sign. He left. We followed the technical assistance guide ourselves. First step says shut down the whole system. We did that for an hour. Turned it back on. Works like new. I’m writing this review so the next customer doesn’t needlessly pay $5,100–that’s a lot of money. What a hypocrite: Shavitz was bad-mouthing the other guy! I want my $179 refunded, Shavitz. Not only did you not earn it, you wasted my time (I took a day off of work).

    Very pleased with Mitch, the Shavitz technician who served us, and his professionalism & likable personality. The Shavitz support team back at the office was very helpful and friendly, too. I'm recommending the Shavitz Team to my friends.

    Courteous assistance with the timing and arrival of the technician from both the front office and the field tech himself, everyone dreads the "four hour windows" allotted with similiar appointments. Also showed care and respect for the property during the inspection. Nice experience!

    Linas was EXCEPTIONAL in his work on a rather complicated HVAC replacement project. He consistently kept us informed about what he was doing, was incredibly careful to keep the area clean, and pointed out how we could fix the problem with our second HVAC installation. I would strongly recommend not only Shavitz for HVAC work, but especially Linas. I owe him a loaf of home-made sourdough bread and will give it to him when he comes back SOON to fix our second unit. Linas is a very valuable asset to Shavitz and should be not only noticed, but rewarded for his professionalism and expertise.

    These guys are great! Very professional. Our home has an older HVAC system and they were honest in their evaluation and didn't try and sell us new systems like other companies we've had in the past.
