I was referred to Vanguard several years ago and wouldn't call anyone else. Thanks to Dawn, Gary, Chris, and company, I don't need to! We have a complicated system that only experienced technicians can service. Always responsive, reliable, and knowledgeable! They have "rescued" us whenever needed. I recommend Vanguard 100%!
Vanguard Heat and AC is simply the best! They bailed us out when our furnace went kaput in December. The service and communication is top notch. We were using one of those huge firms that seemed to get a comission on new sales. Freindly, personable, and professional.
We turned on the air conditioning the first 90 degree day. After a couple of hours our house was 85 degrees. We called Vanguard and they responded promptly. Tests determined that the evaporator coil needed to be replaced. Since our unit was old, we decided to replace the whole thing. A couple of days later it came in and Alan and Chris spent several hours installing it. They did an excellent job of explaining what was going on. They were very polite and left absolutely no mess behind. I highly recommend Vanguard.
Gary, Chris and Dawn are the best!! I have an older model Viessmann boiler system and I had several other contractors look at with complete puzzlement. The system had a problem and it provides both radiant heat and hot water to my home. All eggs in one basket!!
After several contractors could not figure out how to fix the problem, I was at the end of the line. I found Vanguard and they could not have been better. Gary took one look at the system and knew exactly what to do. He was able to order the parts and provide a temporary fix until the parts arrived. Once the parts were installed and the system cleaned, it is now running like new.
This was all happening over several months just as the colder weather in Chicago was arriving.
All I can say is if you have an older Viessmann system call these guys first before you give up on it. They know what to do and do it fast, efficient and at a fair price. What more could you ask?
Our AC unit exhibited an issue with frost buildup. A call to Dawn and Gary was able to diagnose the problem. Their response time was great. We've been customers for some thirty-seven years, and in that time Vanguard has seen to our heating and air conditioning needs..Thanks to Gary, Dawn, Al and Chris.
I've used their service for maybe 30 years. They have installed two furnaces in that time and have done checkup and cleaning every year. They have honored their estimates for routine work even when they quoted me the wrong amount. They have responded quickly when needed. Their response for regular maintenance is good. And I see the same people over many years which tells me that they have good employee relations.
We have been a loyal customer of Vanguard for over 15 years. Spent quite a bit of money with maintenance, not to mention buying top of the line air conditioning system through them. Until last month when we had an appointment for our yearly furnace cleaning and getting it ready for the winter season, it’s always been my husband who deals with all the arrangements and pricing of their work. Now that I’m retired I’m able to be around when work is being done. As usual, the furnace cleaning went fine but was told there was a small fracture on the front recoup cover gasket. It was temporarily fix with a suggestion to call Dawn at the office to order a replacement. My husband reached out to Dawn via email. Dawn emailed us an “estimate” of $362.95. Any person reading her email will understand that it is only an estimate and not the actual billable amount. They agreed on the date and time. When the job was done, I was given the bill with the estimated amount. When I asked for the breakdown of the bill, I was told to call Dawn which I did. Before I called Dawn, I called Amana directly to find out how much it is to buy the recoup cover from them. The cost: $31.97!!! With shipping and tax the total would be close to $43.00 . No wonder Dawn belligerently refused to breakdown her estimated cost. She charged my unsuspecting husband a whopping $320 dollars for a less than an hour work. To add to the cash injury, Dawn had the gall to call my husband at work to complain about me....that I dare question her pricing, that my husband agreed with the flat rate pricing without breaking it down to parts and labor cost. All those years of being a loyal Vanguard customer went down the furnace drain because Dawn can’t distinguish a good customer from all others.
Been doing business with Gary and his team for almost 20 years, beginning with Amana furnace install in 2001. Annual furnace/AC clean/check thereafter and repairs when necessary. Always professional, responsive and nice. Prices are fair.
20+ year old Lennox central air conditioning replaced by Vanguard in 2016. In 2020, Amana furnace displayed slight crack in secondary heat exchanger during annual inspection. With the heat exchanger warranted for life, a replacement furnace is being installed with no charge for the product (understandably, service labor for the install is our responsibility).
They have sold and maintained my HVAC equipment for over 25 years, including the old Amana HTM furnace which nobody else would touch. I purchased a new Amana (Goodman) system in 2001 which runs well to this day. Gary is a very knowledgeable and nice guy, as are the other techs, and they have always responded well to the few emergency calls I've made. They keep a good supply of parts which gets the product fixed quickly. This has been my experience, and I can certainly recommend them for Amana and Goodman service and installation.
